What makes you decide to give something to help with it??

I've been reading the threads about different things, Georgia is quite a windy baby and sometimes it takes a while for it to come up (or go down), so far I've not bothered to give her anything for it, but she was quite difficult this afternoon, and some of her cries sounded really quite sore.

I'm pretty sure she hasn't got colic or anything, cos mostly she's pretty placid.

Xxx

A massage video was posted up a couple days ago that really helps, I can't link you as I'm on my phone sorry but the thread was titled 'brilliant trick for glassy babies' and is in the baby and toddler section.. xx

My doctor recommended infocol today.
Tyler doesn't have colic.

The cycling legs one, I've tried that, but doesn't seen to work very well, maybe I'm not doing it right.

She always seems to have hiccups. Xxx

I bought Infacol after a few days of struggling to wind Noah. Sitting there for a long time trying to get burps out of him was worrying me (I kept panicking he'd get tummy ache or bring his feeds up after someone in SCBU at hospital saying he'd been sick one time due to not been winded very well). You have to use it quite a bit to get it into their system for it to work, but he winds a lot better now :)

Thanks, think I might give it a try. Just had to pick her out of the crib cos she kept gagging like she was gonna be sick, yet 2mins on my chest and she's sound. Xxx

Yer that one, I find that doing it when Lo is straining works better.. maybe try that?

We were prescribed infacol today as the gp was adamant that gracie doesn't have reflux coz she is ebf, yet she's showing all the signs of it and even the hv said that's what it is. Ah well going to give it a try anyway, just want my baby to be comfortable! A screaming child is no fun at 4 o'clock in the morning :( was in tears with her this morn :'( xx

Cam had reflux and is breastfed. What's that doc on about!?

He has a bit of a rep round here for brushing you off :( said that babies only really get reflux when ff because of the flow of the bottle, I mentioned about having an overactive let down and he was like well its still not as fast as a bottle! Yet she gulps and sputters, even almost chokes sometimes! I've tried hand expressing before feeds but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.. explained this to him and he was still like its not reflux, its colic! Felt totally fobbed off :( xx

Danti it's expensive, although some doctors will give it on prescription, but colief has worked really well for my lo. She is bf so it's a pain giving it in some expressed my before a feed but worth it. They think my lo might have silent reflux and gave infant gaviscon to try but it's really hard to do when bfing plux they said it could make her constipated. Then she would need medication for that. I decided to try the colief first. Really worked. Might be worth a try as I found infacol good but bit food enough for her more severe problem

I use infacol too, Jakes tummy goes hard when he has wind pain and he cries different so that's when I give it, he doesn't get it often now though now that he is eating baby food.

Danti he's a man what does he know! Lol!

I guess try it, it won't harm LO!

My MW told my on my first day home so day4 for LO to try Infacol think it helped a bit but still have some problems with Jack's wind he prefers to let it out the other end xxx

Did you guys check with hv before you used it, or just give it a try?? xxx

Infacol isn't absorbed into the baby's system so is safe to use from day one. It's worth a try. I used it in both of mine without speaking to hv or doctor.

Haha you got that right pinky!

Thanks kbex, been using the infacol and she seems better, still spitting up but not half as much as she was! Brings up wind better too but that could be down to me winding her during feeds and not leaving it till she's finished.. have heard infacol stops working after a while though so will try colief if she gets bad again xx
