Will they be able to tell the sex at a 13 week scan?

I have my scan on Fri and i will be nearly 13 weeks would they be able to tell me the sex if i asked?
or is it too early?
I have done a bit of research and they all say it is possible!!
i am so impatient lol

no they wont be able to i had m,y scan with my 2nd child at 14 weeks and they couldnt tell. but i might be wrong. xxx

i dont think they really like to say that early because if they get it wrong but as above i think it be little early maybe things have not grown into place?

They wont risk telling you cos it could be very wrong..... I say wait till 20 weeks scan, by then , they will know for sure! Its all part of the fun guessing at your dating scan.....

Nope they won't tell you...i asked at mine and she told me some crap about it not knowing what its going to be itself yet!

I know some one with three boys and is pregnant again and found out it was another boy. I think am looking to have one of both so far i think am going to have a boy. I think i would rather have a boy then a girl because my boy is good and my daughter is a right tantrum addict lol xx

I think 16 weeks is the earliest they can tell you but I'd prob wait til 20 weeks to be sure x

Hey, I had my 12 week scan when I was 14 weeks and she said "he" a few times. Don't know if they just say he/she whatever pops into their minds at the time lol.. but at my gender scan at 17 weeks I was told he is a boy makes me wonder if the sonographer at my scan at 14 weeks knew.

Just realised that doesn't really answer your question lol! What I mean is if you ask they probably will say they can't tell.. but sometimes I wonder if they really can but just don't say incase they're wrong x

you can google the "nub therory" which claims to be able to tell you thesex from 12 weeks due to the possition of the "nub" you can find pictures and instructions where you can guess =)

Nope, you'll just have to be patient! I know how hard that is as I was DYING to know, but 16 weeks is generally the earliest you can get a sex scan done.

from my research, up until about 15-16 weeks, external girls bits and boys bits look pretty much the same in scans, too similar to see a clear difference

it's only anatomy research from uni, but shouldn't have thought ultrasounds would be that much better than they were 5 years ago

My midwife asked me at my 16 week appointment with her if they had told me at my 12 week scan what the sex was i said no but i was sure they could tell, plus i saw what i thought was the signs for a girl she then told me that they CAN tell what it is at the 12 week scan but they will say they cant tell because they like to be 100% sure plus they like to try and show you at ur 20 week scan so u can see what they are looking at!

I had a scan at 18 weeks aswell due to some spotting and i asked there but she said she still couldnt tell which was a big lie the doctor scanning was a specialist in the area so i knew by that and her facial expression that she could tell, i also saw the same signs that it was a girl at this scan like i did at my 12 week scan, at my 21 week scan i asked and they told me it was a little GIRL so if you look closely you might be able to tell.
