This is a silly question, but I just feel so unlike myself does it get better after birth? I've got a constant horrible taste in my mouth no matter what I eat or drink, I can't drink milk in anything and I just feel a bit out of sorts and yucky. Don't get me wrong I can't wait for baby to be here and because I've not got a huge bump I find people are expecting a lot of me and I should be bouncing about still even though I'm really feeling it now. I just want to feel my normal self and drink a big mug of tea without wanting to be sick lol xx

I've never had a baby before, but going pff what people have said we will feel better then we ever have :)

I'm 36+2 now and feel similar, scared to even go too far from home as well incase something labour related happens haha xxx

Lol its terrible I'm counting down the days now bunny! Twelve days until I finish work and a month until she'll hopefully be here, it can't come quick enough, then at least I can mope about like a hermit in peace without having to put on a brave face! Xx

your doing amazing still being in work lovely, your little one will be here before you know it xxxx

Yes! You do!

My heart burn went instantly - my hips stopped aching! Whilst I was left with an episiotomy and I've never felt like I did before birth with my body but things return to 'normal' as such

Having a child takes your mind off all that pretty quickly and you don't care anyway once he/she is here :)

Yep lots of aches and pains disappear immediately, and being able to lie on your back is glorious. You don't quite feel yourself for a little while in your head though. It takes time for the hormones to settle. Personally, I felt the baby blues lift at about 2 weeks and was fine after that!

That's so good to know, heartburn has been agony and tablets aren't working now. Can't wait to eat something really tasty lol ooh lying comfortably on my back sounds amazing xx

I agree, it takes a couple of weeks to feel human again but you do stop hurting and feeling like poo. I think the baby blues are the worst bit of the recovery, once you're past them things start looking up. A four hour block of sleep feels like an achievement!

Yep heartburn went instantly n tho somethings do take time to get back k to normal u do feel better straight away.

The liquid is so much more effective than tablets - if your still suffering go to GP who may prescribe some renitidine or something .

Im taking omeprazole and ranatidine at the minute, the gp has upped my dose of the ranatadine this week so hopefully it'll kick in again. Thanks for all the replies ladies very helpful! Xx

I hope so (and I've done it before so I should know the answer!) but I have never felt more revolting, disgusting, ugly and uncomfortable in my whole life than I do today..... I caught sight of myself from the rear in the mirror today when I got out of the shower and I wanted to vomit. It's mostly that I'm also so uncomfortable, I'm in so much pain when I walk that just walking upstairs is taking about three minutes.... I got a call today to say my csec has been pushed back another day and I burst into tears.... Sorry, this is such a self.indulgent pathetic whinge.... I just feel incredibly low about it all right now. I am gagging to do some serious exercise but with the csec I know it will be a little while....really hope when I get going I can start to feel good about myself xxx

Sounds like a few of us feeling fed up now! The end is in sight girls! I feel the same so fat big uncomfortable, I'm really looking forward to getting my body back losing a bit of weight stopping aching all over and being able to turn over in bed without it being a massive effort! It does get better, personally last time for me I was quite uncomfortable with stitches until 4 weeks after the birth but felt loads better after that. You WIIL feel like yourself again soon promise! Xx
