Why are Mum's so competitive?

See all this carry on about ppl thinking their baby is better for sleeping thro or being a bigger weight ect ect its rediculous, the proof is in the pudding. I want my LO to be an intelligent caring hard working man & I couldn't give a f*ck if he does anything slower than other babies as long as he ends up a nice intelligent person. And I know alot of the mums who compete ect, they wont be arsed to properly teach their kid how to be respectable ect & sit down and spend hours reading to LO and other things like that.

Duno if that makes sense, that was a bit of a rant, I kinda just thought it was just me that thought this way about mums but reading so many other ppl's experiences, it kinda makes me a bit more pissed off if that makes sense

Yes.yes.yes! Laura it drives me nuts!! A good few of my friends have LO's. One of my friends has 2 kids. Oth of whom have woke every hour as babies (one is my godson, 10 months old) I really feel sorry for my friend but she always asks 'is Will still sleeping thru' and when I say yes, she looks so pissed off! I feel like she's hoping I say, no he's a nightmare!

Ikwym hun. I think one of our friends hoped we'd struggle having lo as it took them a while longer to adjust to having a baby. Don't get me wrong, it's not been completely smooth sailing, we just get on with it and don't believe we have to stop living like they do! xx

I hear you ;) I was saying to OH earlier, all I care about is whether Brody is happy. As long as he's happy, I'm happy. He can be who he wants to be, as long as he's a good person, which we'll try our best to make sure he is. All you can wish for is that they're happy and healthy in life.

You know what its so strange people saying they get comments on how small baby is - Alice is a big baby, she is 6 weeks and in 3 - 6 month clothes and i get shitty comments, always 'she is so big' 'chubby' 'greedy' 'how much you feeding her' etc ... its not my fault i can't put a baby on a diet! And health visitor said they can't be too big because they loose it when they start running around when toddlers but i shouldn't even feel i need to defend myself, people should just keep comments to themselves.

Also sick of people saying she will be big like me, im fat because i eat too much crap and dont excercise enough, i wasn't fat as a child, she isn't going to automatically be fat because she is a chubby baby! God i get so mad!! x

I understand the sleeping thing, it used to get to me hearing how a lot of the babies on here sleep through the night already but over the last 3 weeks or so I've realised I'm pretty happy with Tyler's sleeping he's only up twice for 10mins each time and and if I can get him back to bed without waking we're laughing. Im getting about 7-8 hours a night.

I hope you don't feel like that with me :oooo: :)

I think in the short time we've known each other we're open without feeling scared of being judged by each other. And I know you're doing a fab job, I've seen a happy thriving Brody

God, I sound soppy.......hormones!!! Not gay remember wink wink
