Who's had a Caesarean?

Oh go on Nat, we won't tell.

Well this woman cleaner/nurse person said that if I needed anything while I was in the shower, I should pull this cord so it would alert her that I needed help so I did that and this other woman came in and she said did you call me and I said yes and I said there seems to be some blood on the floor and I actually thought that my blood drain bag had come out of me or burst or something because it looked like someone had been murdered on the floor and she said after the birth you bleed like when you have a period and I was thinking well I know that already but as I still had the bag and cathetar attached to me, I just thought it had come out and that's why there was blood everywhere

Oh no, that sounds nasty for ya.

Dreading this time if I need a section, won't have anyone there to help me. Karl and I don't live together and I don't want some nurse or midwife seeing me in the buff. lol

I've read so much on having a natural birth but can't seem to find that much about caesarean births.
I'm wondering what it's like afterwards? How bad is the pain and how long does it last for? Is it really difficult to hold your baby and is it absolute agony?
Any info would be great! I want to be prepared just in case!
