Hi was just wondering if anyone here has witnessed a family member or friend giving birth? Not on TV or anything, actually holding their hand as they push their child into the world.
I always said it was something i would never do but my sister asked for me when she had Faye premature this year i am so glad i did. Not only was it the only chance i had to see her alive, but it made my sister and i that little bit closer still.
I think the situation was very different to most people as she was only 24 weeks and the hour i was with her was very intense as no one was sure if the baby would be stillborn or not. Thankfully my sister had 16 precious hours with her daughter.
The emotions you feel when that baby comes out is now something i understand, cuz when you go through it yourself, your crying for the child you've just given birth to, when you're watching someone, its relief for them, the partner, joy of seeing the baby, anguish of seeing a loved one in pain.........
Sorry for the long post i just wanted to share my story and hear other peoples xx
