We have been meaning to start our LO on vitamin drops but are struggling to find any. None of our local shops sell them so I've been looking them up online and I've found 3 different ones - Ddrops, Abidec and Wellkid. Trouble is, all 3 contain different vitamins and 2 of them contain sugar, so I've no idea which is best.

Which do/did other people use?

Shouldn't need vitamin drops if your lo is having a balanced diet. My hv advised it was unnecessary.

She gets a very varied diet, but the department of health and the nhs recommend all children are given supplements of vitamins D, A and C and breastfed babies need these from 6 months. It seems to be very hard to find them though. Most of the shops sell the drops for 3+ but not for 6 months+.

Well I've decided to go with Abidec as the dosage is smaller than the Wellkid. Will have to see how she reacts to the syringe..

Hi Maud, I take the pregnacare breastfeeding vitamins every day as this contains the recommended amount of vitamin d plus lots of others.

I believe you can buy the nhs healthy start vitamins from most sure start centres x
