I began Finn on a little bit of baby food a week ago on Tuesday and since then he hasn't pooed! Apart from 3 tsp of baby food he's still entirely breastfed.

I spoke to the HV today and she said that as long as he was windy it meant no blockage. He was very upset tonight so I think it's starting to affect him now and if he doesn't poo between now and the morning I'm taking him to the doctors.

I've tried...
massaging his tummy
a warm bath
cycling his legs
I stopped the cereal and gave him puree yesterday
orange juice solution
PRUNE juice solution
PUREED PRUNES with a bit of baby rice :puke:

Any other suggestions?

the only other thing i can think of is cooled boiled water, but your are BF so im not sure if it will even make and difference

I think you might be able to give him lactulose (Ive just checked the bottle Ive got and it doesnt specify an age children can take it but it gives a dose guide for children iykwim). Hope he does a poopy for you

Tried it :wall:
Phoned docs this morning and they don't seem to give you an appointment these days unless you're dying so I'm waiting for a "telephone consultancy" over the phone with a doctor.

Tried Calpol :rotfl: Doc just wrote me a prescription for Turbolax aka lactulose so we should have 10 days (at least!!) worth of poo in a nappy shortly .... lovely ....

The old TURBOLAX did the trick! We had the mama of all poos in his nappy - at least 11 days of festering poo came out :puke: It was definately a man's job so my hubby changed him! He's a different baby though and tired - went to sleep at half five this evening.

I'm not sure which chap you're on about - Finn for being so bunged up or my hubby for having to clean it :rotfl:
