I am often out and about with Grace and I am looking for something that I can take her lunch in that will stay warm until she needs it.

I always use home cooked foods and am finding it so hard to get them heated when I am out. Loads of coffee shops/cafe places won't let you use their microwaves and others don't have them to use.

it is so frustrating.... anyone know where I can get something decent that will keep her lunch warm and keep her tummy happy with the long cold winter ahead :wall: :wall: :wall:

thanks

I know I had the same problem. Don't have an answer unless you are driving somewhere. We bought a small travel fridge, which has a warm setting and comes with a 12v plug for the car as well as 240v plug for normal plugs. Thankfully now we can just by kids meals but we ended up carrying about jars of the Hipp Organic food to use as a last resort, which she would eat cold.

NB We found Debenhams tended to have facilities, as do most motorway service stations.

Does it have to be warm? Will she not just eat it at room temperature? Otherwise, all I can think of is a mini thermos, maybe put the warmed food in a sandwich bag in the thermos before you leave the house & hopefully it'll stay warm for when you need it?

i warm lukes up in the flask where i warm his bottles but i admit it doesn't get as nice and warm as if you zap it in the microwave. i would be interested to hear what others say too x

If cafe's / coffeshops wont let you use their microwaves then put the food in a container with a lid, like a formula bottle with a cap or a cleaned out baby food jar and then either take your own hot water in a thermos and a bowl to stand the food in and heat it that way or ask the cafe / restaurant for some hot water to warm the food. They should have no problem giving you hot water or even a bowl too so you don't have to lug one about. I used to warm Isaacs food this way at home when he ate jars before he had my own cooked food but theres no reason you can't just use a jar and put your own food in it. I never ever used a microwave incase it scalded his mouth.

Lou :D

i give D a mixture of homecooked and jar food..i tend to give him the first half of his jar at room temp and warm it up if it has been in the fridge ... not any help i guess but this is the reason i got D aeting non heated food
