...do babies roll over...

there have been quite a few ladies on here recently with babies younger than madam announcing there babies can roll...

ellouise hasnt rolled over yet.. is something wrong?

perhaps she isnt having enough "floor" time... hmm

she ONCE rolled onto her side, but that was it :S

also at what age do they sit up on there own. ellouise sits on her own for like 5 seconds till she realises then flumps lol

I think they start rolling from belly to back around 4 months. Nathans just doing it the wrong way round. He wasn't having hardly any floor time at all a Aimee used to try to sit on him but we have sorted that now. As for sitting alone I think the average is around 6 months but Aimee didn't sit till about 7 and a half months. I know its hard to try not to comare to other babies! Sounds like her sitting is coming on nicely :D Nathan can't roll from belly to back either yet cos he doesn't like spending any time on his belly, all he does when he gets there is cry and butts the floor and i have to go and rescue him

Awww Lozzi babies develop at their own paces, and you will be thinking christ why wont she do these things is something up but one day no warning she will just do it, and you will probably miss it lol like i did!
Babies do different things at different times, i know a girl whose litttle girl is 2 months older than Alfie and she got a tooth at 4 months but couldnt sit up unaided till 7 months, alfie was sitting unaided at 5 months for long periods of time but has only just cut a tooth! all bubs are different and there are probably things that El can do that babies her age cant, like sitting thing, those 5 seconds will become a minute within days, then itll become 5 minutes then 10 till she just sits up, i bet in 2 weeks she can sit up for 10 minutes
I have heard (may be false) that boys develop physically faster i.e standing etc (like i said probably wrong) and girls develop mentally faster i.e talking! But i couldnt be sure if thats true or not
try not to worry Lozzi nothing is wrong with your little lady, she may be one of those that think huh im not rolling over not when i can go straight to sitting

I take it back :l i ahd her led on the floor today and she is constantly rolling on her side.. .and ONCE went fully over...

OMG when did this happen :l

she had a really cute lil puzzled look as if to say how did that happen

Awwww bless, well done clever girl :cheer:

Ruby has been rolling for few weeks now, I bought her a play mat from Fisher Price after she played on a friends and was trying to roll...she has at least 2 hours a day every day playing on it, she LOVES it, and has started rolling like a mad thing now!! She rolls onto her tum, but cant get back yet, so she starts grumbling. As soon as I turn her back, she rolls again straight away!! She is doing it when we put her into her cot at night so we spend the first half hour t bedtime, turning her bck onto her back, and she wakes us each morning frustrated s she has rolled onto her tummy and cant get back :rotfl:

My niece is 10 weeks older than Rubes and isnt rolling yet, but she spends alot of time in her bouncer, so she has just got play mat too.

Its fun to sit and encourage them with a toy just out of their reach, she will soon be swinging her legs over quick as a flash :cheer: :cheer:
