when to tell employer?

I told mine as soon as I found out really - but then I have a fab working relationship with him

I told my boss (but not the rest of the office) as soon as I found out because I wanted tim off for appointments etc. x

I told my boss as soon as I was able (but she is a friend as well) however I officially told work after the 12week scan. However if you work with chemicals or anything like that you need to tell them as soon as you know so that you not working with them. My friend needed to do this.

I told my work after the 12week scan...

If you do any work where heavy lifting is required they obviously need to know asap.

I was wondering this, I work for the probation service, and up until last week I worked as a case administrator and I dealt with offenders every day, so I guess I would have told them soon ish, but as of Monday I will be working with the trainee probation officers and will have hardly any contact with the public so I was not sure whether I was going to say anything yet - plus they picked my for the job so I feel a bit guilty.

The only thing is, I have been feeling very sick so I'm worried about being off sick and apts etc....when would you guys tell your boss in this situation?

I told my boos straight away but didn't tell the rest of the office till about 16 weeks

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of telling HR tomorrow, my new boss is a little odd, I'm worried about saying anything as I feel a little guilty. Before changing roles at work I was off for 4 months with depression so I don't want them to think I'm a massive pain!

Hi there, I told my bosses straightaway - am still only 4w4d but I feel so sick. couldn't go in yesterday morning but made it in the afternoon and couldn't go in this morning either, just thinking about whether I feel up to going in this afternoon.

we have a communal office so I have been really worried about being ill in the office so thought best to tell them.

I have a dilema too and would appreciate your advice?

Last time I found out that I was pg I didn't have a line manager as she was on long term sick so I had to speak to the overall boss, which was great as she didn't need to mention it to anybody else.

I have got a line manager now, but she is only going to be my line manager until the end of January, then someone else will be taking over. (The company is going through a big re-structure!) I know the other person who is going to be my line manager.

I have got my mw appt on 16th January so am going to need the time off so I therefore need to tell someone that I am pg, but who?

If I tell my line manager, she will no doubt say that she will have to tell my going to be new line manager and the overall boss is going to need to be told cos of the re-structure so that is 3 people knowing when I don't particulary want people to know until after my 12 week scan.

Dilema, dilema, dilema!!

Xxx
