just general things with the mw?

i got my next visit on the 27th, theres a few things i wanna talk about.. breast feeding. my nipples(flat).. her advise etc i will be 23 weeks then.. so perhaps its still early yet..

are there things u wanna talk bout and feel the times not right yet?

I wanna talk about having a water birth. They are reluctant to let me have one as my first son was born by c section.

My next appointment is a week wednesday (20 weeks) but I want to discuss it so I can let them know how much I want one.

Tough if it's too early :rotfl:

Me too, I really really would like a water birth & after reading leckershells birth story I want it even more now it sounds amazing (if I can go that far about giving birth)

Oh I haven't read Leckershell's birth story!

I'm off to find it :D

Wow........Leckershells birth story is fab. Makes me want a water birth all the more now!

Must admit though I was in A LOT more pain than that with my 2. Some people are just so lucky :rotfl:

I'm discussing my birth options wednesday (I'll be 15 weeks) but mainly because they have me down as a hospital water birth and I wantto chat with them about a home birth. I have lists of questions like will they stay with me and help me breastfeed etc. I don't care if it's too early - if there is say a sticking point with one of their policies or something, I have time to work it out with them or sort something else.

Didn't realise I'd made such an impact :) I can't say that the water birth was anything to do with my lack of pain relief, but it certainly helped take some pressure off :) it was lovely. But you're right, I may have just been lucky. Hope yours both go well... never too early to ask questions. I asked things early on and though she said ooh far too early to be thinking about things like that, I said well I want to know the answer, so she told me. Haha :)

I had a water birth with my little girl and I am hoping for another this time. Dont know if I will go to the hospital to have him or use my bath at home. I guess it just depends on whats availibale.

Like you lisa I feel its a bit early to talk about birth options and Im 28weeks tomorrow. I think it has more to do with me not wanting to think of whats coming lol.

Nah its not too early... When I had my 3 month appointment with her I discussed birthing options.... There had been a lot of rumour and speculation going around... The old Vega Baja hospital was 45 mins away, and the stories that came out of there, women left in casualty standing up giving birth (I've seen them too), no form of pain relief etc... It was pretty terrifying stuff...

So then they built the new hospital up the road, which has a whole wing dedicated to maternity care, and I knew nothing about that, and I wanted to know... as I was cr*pping myself basically. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's not too early at all to discuss those options, after all, it's your body and baby, you have every right to start planning from day one. You need to find out EVERY option to everything youa re considering, that way you have an open mind about what preferences you'd like to have.

I wish I had these options, don't get a midwife here :(
