Hi

Tom has been having infant gaviscon in his milk ever since he was tiny. When is it usual to stop giving it to him? Or do I continue to give it to him until he stops drinking formula?
I asked the HV at our appointment yesterday but she didn't have a clue.

Thanks

Nikki

i dont know either , have u tried him without it to see if his still refluxy ?

No I haven't tried it, too scared!!

Just wondered when other people stopped.

you can try and wean him off it at anytime but it depends why he started it - if only mild reflux (coughin/vomiting but still growing ok) then you can do it youself and just reduce the amount (reduce the night doses last) but some LOs have it really severely and some even stop breathing! and in these cases you should discuss with your GP before weaning him off it.....

we've got baby smil;e down to only one sachet in his bedtime and dreamfeed and he has been fine....
