My bounty pregnancy app advised I pack my hospital bag when I turned 30 weeks. Seems a bit early! When did you start packing your bag for the big day?

For my first it was around 36 weeks. For this one it was around 33 weeks as my first arrived at 37 weeks so didn't want to be caught out!

I started packing mine between 32/33 weeks, however I haven't finished yet and I'm now 35+2, but hoping to be finished by 36 weeks x

LO's bag is done, I've pretty much done mine just the last little bits to add like snacks and drinks. You can never be too prepared! :) xx

I'll probably do mine for 30 weeks. I'll also have to do bags for my other two toddlers but I'll leave that til later. My first baby I didn't pack until 37 weeks and was fine but realised I had left it quite late when a friend unexpectedly gave birth at 37 weeks. So with my second I think I'd done it around 34 weeks x

I think I'll wait until 34 weeks before making a start. Probably need to buy a few bits anyway like a baggy top. Hadn't even thought about snacks!!

I was gutted in terms of snacks with my first as I had packed a bag of jelly babies and from the moment I went in the hospital wasn't allowed to eat because baby was distressed and they weren't sure if I'd end up having a c section. 18 hours later I gave birth and was scrabbling for that bag of jelly babies the first chance I got X

I ended up with an extended hospital stay at 29 weeks last year with my son. I was having contractions luckily these were stopped. However it means that this time I was planning to be packed by 28 weeks but I'm 26 weeks now and not started thinking about it.

What sort of snacks do people take?

I ate about a million jaffa cakes. I had taken a whole variety of things but only ate these in labour, then a few dry cream crackers and a couple of cereal bars afterwards.

Jaffa cakes are a great idea!!

Packing mine this weekend will be coming up to 33 weeks :) Will give me another couple of weeks to see whats missing nd buy all the extras - oh and make lists for the fridge for hubby about what to grab last minute like my sports bottle of water which was my fave thing during labour last time !

I'm 28 and making a start on mine just because I was in hospital cos Drs thought was in pre term labour so I want to be prepared incase she does make an early appearance! Otherwise I would have left it until about 33 weeks x

I'm 36 wks but I started buying at 35 weeks (over sized pjs/nighties/t shirts, leggings, travel set bottles, towels ect from Primark and then toothbrush/brush/knickers/bobbles ect from else where).

My bag only came on Thursday so I've been panicking! It's a 40L holdall but still way too small for all of babies stuff and my changing bag doesnt come for another two weeks with my pram (it's on preorder) so all of his stuff is in this huge carrier bag and my snacks in another.

It's so difficult, I didnt want to go too big and look a tool but ended up with two carrier bags anyway. I guess i figure if we use the snack bag during labour hubby can take it home.

I wonder if i have too much crap.. I even bought flip flops for the shower and straws for during labour.. Do people have a labour bag and then one for the ward?

For snacks I went dry stuff as im Mrs hyperemesis still and nausea is back this trimester. So dry stuff like pitta bread crisps, apricots, lucosade, ribena (makes me sick but only cartons i could get).. Id like to get haribo mix or other snacky things like dry fruit packs but im so off food right now I cant think of anything that like grabs my attention to snack on.

I've got a bag for me (a mini suitcase) and a bag for baby which is a sports bag. Feel like I'm taking way too much! Not even started on the snacks yet hehe!

I feel like I have way too much stuff too...

I have one bag for me which has everything from flip flops to straws in it!

I have one changing bag/backpack for baby & two carrier bags one with snacks and one with spare nappies and maternity pads etc if needed.. I'm thinking when we first go in OH will only need to carry my bag in then he can go back to the car and get the others when needed.

I've been getting myself a bit worked up over it but worst case scenario my OH can pop home or someone can bring anything I need in!

xx

Rofl same as me! I even thought of packing a labour bag so I could shift all my crap to the car afterwards.

I am doing a spare bag too, last time I went in for emergency gallbladder surgery i asked husband for a tidy nightie and knickers and he brought in thongs and an old nightie. So thought it might be an idea to fill it with nappies ect and knickers incase i bleed heavy.

Haha! That's the sort of thing my OH would do!

I'm just going to take plenty of carrier bags to dump any stuff I no longer need or dirty stuff in so OH can take it home.

It'll be fine I'm sure! xx

I had to stay in hospital with my little boy who was ill earlier this year. Told my OH to just get me a couple of tops off the drying rack at home. He came back in with two tops, one of which was part of a set where it needed a vest underneath as the top bit was just a drapey Cardigan type thing. Literally would have been like a porno if I'd worn that. Lol. They don't engage their brains! X

Haha yes, I dunno what he was thinking.. I dont know what to expect at all so I've packed everything bit the kitchen sink.

I will have my mum luckly so If I am super desperate theres a tesco extra 3 mins from our hospital so she can go get me what I need. But I can only imagine that is going to be underwear really.
