When is the right time to get the cot ready?

Hello, im 25 weeks pregnant and me and my boyfriend are gutting out the bedroom in 2 weeks and getting prepared for Baby is it the right time to get the cot ready etc or should i wait a bit longer??

I will be doing it as soon as I get my cot in 3 weeks. I'm too impatient to wait! I will put all my bedding etc on there but will wash it again when I have about a week left so it's fresh xx

We set up ours last week and I wsn't even 24 weeks yet... Same with Larly on the bedding. Set it up!

Thank you everyone for your replies!!! im definatly going to put the cot up in 2 weeks when we decorate the bedroom!!! ohhh im so excited! hope everyone is enjoying their pregnancy xx

i finally got dh to clear some of his crap outta the nursery today

got a few more bits to go through, dismantle the spare wardrobe, move bits to cellar and then it will be all clear to decorate

wanna order my furniture at the end of the month so we wil need to have the room clear so we can decorate before it all arrives. i can't wait!

ah sounds amazing!! i am so excited to see the cot finally up!! cant get any bedding or anything yet as they wasnt certain im having a girl so we have another scan on the 11th November so hopefully will find out for sure then! but i have been naughty and brought some girls clothes tut tut!! made sure i kept my receipt haha

Want to put mine up but haven't got the hang of keeping the cats out yet and don't want them sleeping on it. Will probably try to wait til about 36 weeks unless anyone can think of anything to keep my moggys off it til then.

Oooo i have a cat too and im waiting to see what she is like, i think when i set the cot up we arent going to put the matress flat for a while or even put sheets in it... im thinking my cat may stay away from it but we will see. Is there anything ur going to make ur cats do different or are u just going to see what they are like with the new arrival?x

I had 1 cat when my 1st son was born. Can't make cats change their behavior so just have to get used to shutting the door and scanning room for kitties before naps.

Luckily I don't allow cats to sleep with me or it'd be more difficult. I'm not into putting nets and things over cots.

Making me think about setting up the cot without the sheets now. Might be a bit scary for my OH though it's his 1st.
