When does everyone...

go on maternity leave, or have you already? Following the norm of me always leaving stuff to the last minute to qualify for my maternity allowence i have to work till 36 weeks. When is everyone due to finish/did finish? I thought id be okay, but i am really starting to struggle now!

Not only am i finshing 4 weeks before i move house the following day aswell...am i mad???!!

I am finishing at 38 weeks - 2 weeks before due date. I work in a manic comprehensive school and I have not started to struggle YET.....but watch this space!!!

Also have en energetic 2 year old to come home to every night who obviously does not know that Mummy needs a bit of rest from time to time...

I think it is entirely up to the individual WHEN you go on maternity leave - nobody else should influence you because they don't know how you feel (you may feel full of energy OR you may be having no sleep and have a really bad back!). I know some people who have worked until 26 weeks and others who have worked up until 4 days before!

wow hun! you are working pretty late. I think your crazy I am so tired right now I couldn't even contemplate working. Respect to you! make sure you take care of yourself and don't work too hard

I run a business with my husband and I am pretty much expected to work up until the day I go into labour. I also found out recently that he thought I would be able to manage when the baby was born too... luckily I have managed to convince him that I simply won't! Grrrrr....

My maternity leave starts officially on the 17th Nov at 36 weeks but I've been saving my annual leave so will finish work around the end of October so I'll be around 34 weeks when I stop, I can't wait.

I wanted to finish on due date but my body had other ideas and Ive been off for 2 weeks now so started on 36 weeks Im really bored but there has been no way I would have been able to work longer

I finish next Friday 3rd Oct I'll be just over 36 weeks then. I've been ok throughout the pregnancy but I'm starting to get a alot of hip now when walking so I can't wait to rest

I'll be going on maternity leave at 25 weeks. My contract finishes at the end of March so I decided I might as well just go on leave as soon as I can, so I finish on the 12th November and I can't wait! It also means lots of spare time to knit and crochet for the baby

Have been struggling recently but because of maternity pay issues I have had to work it this way. Can't wait for those 3 days off!!!

I finished 2 weeks ago when I was 34 weeks. Starting to get really tired now and I wanted some time before the baby comes to get organised. hugs to everyone that is going to keep working until the last minute. You are mad but at least you get more time off with the baby xxxx

I think we all need a pat on the back! Luckily my employer is pretty laid back and doesnt mind waiting the 20 minutes or so for me to climb the 2 flights of stairs!

I still not heard back officially..

i asked for 3rd October..

and then i thought.. theres no point working 3 days of one month, as its commission on monthly basis included in wage..

so asked to leave on Tuesday..

So i'm clueless hehe.. but soon.. YAY xx

Will be 35 weeks when I finish. I dont start my mat leave till my due date - the 5 weeks before this are my saved up annual leave and I cant wait!

I am due 23rd Oct and I am working until the 13th Oct

I think that I am mad working that late as i'll be ready to drop but the more I work... the more money I earn before she makes an apearance!!!

Me and the OH have our own company and I work from home so I guess I'm still working now and probably will be up until the big moment
Its ok though, probably easier than being stuck in a busy office as I can work when bump is active, then when I feel tired I can go and have a lie down for an hour or so and then catch up with anything I haven't done when I can't sleep at night.
I think if I wasn't still working I would either get bored sitting around the house or would have spent loads of money just wandering around town all day
After LO is born my mum will come round 2 days a week to help out with any paperwork I need to do so I am lucky there.
