I've already had to buy a cheap pair of jeans from Primarni in a size bigger for this annoying inbetween phase.

I have a small bump, but my whole body just feels a bit like a barrel at the moment - waist gone and all tubular! I've starting looking at maternity clothes but wondered if it's pointless buying them so early. Will i need bigger sizes than my normal size further down the line? I just need a good pair of jeans....i look like i've walked out of the asylum as my belt and zipper is always hanging low...

I was wearing maternity jeans and trousers at around 9 weeks...........

I was a 12 before and wearing a size 12 in maternity - all the jeans need to be belted, so have plenty of room in them yet, although I did buy a lovely pair of cropped smart trousers which I am now too big for.

I have bought a couple of lovely pairs of jeans from ebay, 2nd hand but in excellent condition, and only paid £6 or so for them!

I started at about 10 weeks but didn't feel comfortable in them until about 20 weeks.. specially with the trousers over the bump..

I've just returned from a shopping trip and feel fed up !!!!!!!!!!!

Normal clothes dont seem to fit me properly anymore and maternity clothes are too big, I hate this in-between stage.
I have a wedding evening bash to go to tomorrow night and an all day wedding to go to next weekend and havent a clue what to wear/what will look half decent.

Sorry, just feeling a bit sorry for myself, I dont look pregnant yet but yet I feel and look like I'm carrying an extra tyre around my middle!!!!!

I saw a girl in town today who had a big bump and was so obviously pregnant, she looked great and I said to myself that I cant wait to look obviously pregnant!!!

i started buying mine about 3 weeks ago because all my normal clothes were too tight

Hi, am 22 weeks and still find maternity clothes uncomfortable as my bump is not big enough.
I have put on about 6kg. What i do is loop an elastic band through the place where my button goes, then loop it around my button.
I then cover the top of my trousers with a maternity band, it is just a widened material band.
I bought it at seraphine - a bit pricey £18.00
Alternatively you can look in the back of maternity magazines.

I still haven't bought any maternity clothes

I am just wearing my OH's clothes largely, and some tops in larger sizes. The bottom half is the most difficult but I just wear things really low i.e. below bump.

Maternity clothes are so expensive!!

I've been wearing maternity clothes since about 14/15 weeks although it's only now they really fit properly x

I bought some lovely maternity trousers at about 10 weeks that still fit well now and have been extremely comfortable since the moment I first put them on! I had to buy a size smaller than the size I was wearing pre pregnancy. I have definitely felt it is worth paying a bit more to get really comfortable well fitting trousers - I only have 1 pair of jeans and 2 pairs of black trousers so I'm certainly getting the wear out of them (just as well they wash really well!)

I could certainly make do without maternity tops - some of my old, longer tops and tops in a larger size (especially smock type tops) cover my bump and don't look too bad. I have bought some maternity tops though because they do seem to have a much nicer fit over my shoulders and chest and then drape nicely over my bump.

I did have to buy a maternity swimming costume though as trying to force myself into my old costume was fairly obscene - everything was stretched over my bump so there was an awful lot of cleavage (and I was scared of moving in case of escapees!! :rotfl: )

I bought a pair of new look maternity jeans in the sale for £12 when I was 11 weeks and wore them to death - they are too small now but for the price, I didnt care if I couldn't wear them again! I have now invested in another style - again, cheapies from New Look and they fit perfectly - been wearing these ones for about 4 weeks now x
