I should be having a planned c-section and just wondered when everyone packed their hospital bags?

I'm a surrogate for my sister so I only need to think about my own bag as she'll be bringing the baby's bag.

For some reason the idea of going in to labour before the section didn't really occur to me but a lady at work went in to labour at 34 weeks over the weekend and I suddenly freaked out LOL.

What did you do?

I've just started packing mine. I'm almost 32 weeks. I'd rather it be put together then when I finish work next month I will probably repack it, at least if anything was to happen I don't have to worry. My friend went into labour at 36+4 and had to pack there and then.

If it's something that will play on your mind i'd say just get it packed, nothing lost by packing it, even if you end up repacking a million times it will keep you feeling reassured that everything is sorted.

I followed this theory and ended up packing at about 29 weeks, I had a very close preterm labour scare at 31 weeks and had a lengthy hospital stay but whilst I was in there the one thing I felt reassured about is that I had everything on hand if I needed it and wouldn't have to send OH running for pjs and pants etc.

Mine was packed by 33 weeks, I feel reassured that it's ready if we need it.

I did mine about 28 weeks after more bleeding and being in hospital it seemed more necessary.

oops...I should probably start thinking about this!! x

I packed mine at 20w, but that's because OH was over from America and it was something we wanted to do together, and he won't be back until 39w.

I already had a list of everything I needed on my phone. We went out and got everything on the list and packed that night.

I too, feel much better knowing it's sat there ready. If I go into labour I know I literally just need to grab it, or if I'm out/whatever I can say to my dad to run and get the bag off the change table, and throw him the keys.

Peace of mind :) xx

Haah mine was packed at like 22w. Helped me take my mind off things xxx

I'm having a planned section at 39 weeks but have had my bag packed for a while. I'm also worried about going into labour on my own early.

With my first pregnancy by the time I was on mat leave I was exhausted, so it was one of those things I wanted to get sorted out sooner rather than later while I still had the energy. Good job too cos since finishing work I've been ill as has my son and I've not been up to much!

Hmm, I was a bit later... like 36 weeks haha! I'm just lazy and hate packing

I did mine at weekend and today I had a scare and went to hospital. Everything fine, But boy was I glad the bag was ready to go!!

Can never be too prepared - it wont do any harm being ready nice and early x

Packing mine now!!! Probably won't be totally organised till 37 weeks! I'll just have to keep my legs crossed. If it would stress you out heading to hospital unprepared then get packing.....but I'm sure the midwives have seen it all before and got most essentials you'll need x

I'm going to pack mine in the next few weeks I'm 27+4! I've started making my list of everything and have bought most bits and pieces for my bag!! Just a few finishing touches to buy! I'm moving house in the next week or so,so will start packing it once I've moved!! I want to get all the baby stuff out and look at it before making an informed decision about what I'm going to pack for him/her!! I hate being disorganised and want to have everything ready ASAP-just in case!!

Can't wait until I'll need to use it :-) x

I always thought 34 weeks would be when I finally sorted it do that's any time about now really! I have bits and bobs I've bought all in a carrier bag I just need to sort and suss what bag actually using. Changing bag seems the norm for baby stuff so can get that packed too I guess!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I will start making a list and getting things together over the next few weeks :)
