When changing from cradle/basket to cot

Did you have to do anything to ease the transition? Apart from valium lol. I like to be prepared and am expecting Albert to be unsettled for a few nights, OH has suggested we put his basket in the cot for a night or two. I'm not going to put mobiles or toys in it as I don't want him to get woken up by interesting stuff iykwim.

Any advice on how to make it as scream free as possible? xxxxxxxxx

we just plopped her straight in, also started using sleeping bag from first night in cot too

oh im with u on the mobile, kayla is like meercat if there is anything in sight so i put the mobile up the top so i can stick her in cot while im cleaning upstairs but when shes at the bottm at night she cant see it x

The cot's not been delivered yet lol but as I say I like to be prepared! I seriously cannot wait to get it

If Albert gets so much as a sniff of anything more interesting than sleeping I stand no chance. It's the same with feeding, I turn into Stretch Armstrong just to keep the bottle in his mouth lol

I think we just tried to get him to spend time in it in the day first, to get used to it and so it seemed familiar. U never know hun, he may transition really well as some LO's like more space xx

We put R straight in when we made the final decision to put him in the cot, then we moved him to the stand away from the cot and then the other day we put him straight in the cot, i think he was ok though because of the hospital cot so my post is totally irrelevant...

But I would try the basket in the cot idea...

I was told to put basket in cot first aswell then gradually put him in the cot.

I would lay E in her cot when I was having a shower or pottering upstairs from day 1 so it was never a strange environment.

I did not put her basket in it, when we decided she was going in it just went for it,

When I first put Jake in his cot which was just over a week ago lol as I used to co sleep with him, I started by putting him down for all his naps in the cot to get him used to it and he has really settled well in the cot now, think he likes the space x

Well I'm majorly pissed off! Estimated delivery time from tutti bambini is September didn't say it was out of stock on the website when we paid for it! So we've cancelled it and hoping tesco's can send us the oak one rather than the white
