Well HV is saying get Megan off bottles by 1 - shes having 2 right now so anyone whos memory is fresh or has a 1 year old (Megans not one for another month) can you share your LOs menu

Problem is Megan has zero teeth :wall: could be a problem anyway (I can't think because Caitlin was getting teeth by now)?!

Hope come HV wants her off bottles? Niamh is still taking milk twice a day now, but she loves her milk :)

This is a usual day for us...

breakfast: brown toast & piece of fruit
snack: cheese/dried fruit/veg fingers/organix
Lunch: soup/sandwich/falafel/pitta breads
Dinner: whatever we're having + yogurt

Rosie has:

Brekkie: Ready Brek followed by some dry cheerios because she likes them in a bowl!

Snack: Grapes/Strawberries/Banana or some cheese or Cheddars

Lunch: Cheese or other sandwich plus yoghurt/raisins

Snack: Some fruit or fruit cake/organix snacks/crumpet

Dinner: Fishfingers & peas/ Eggy bread/ Pasta with sauce/ Quorn nuggets & veg

Bedtime milk in a bottle - should start trying an alternative to the bottle perhaps now.

:)

Nim still has her bedtime milk in a bottle but I'm not too bothered. She jumped straight from bottles to cups with straws. Never got on with proper sippy cups!

Well I aready knew they try to advise no bottle but milk in beakers/cups :D

It was no problem with Caitlin because she hated milk

x

Oh my babies had whatever when they were one. Im lucky because they both enjoy fruit and veg, so fingers of these went down well.
Anything really that they could pick up and feed themselves went down really well! Independent monkeys!
But whatever i had, they tended to have in a smaller version! :)

Hebe doesnt have 'bottles' but she has milk twice a day in the cow cup - same thing no??

Wakes up - cow cup of regular full fat milk (cup takes about 9oz)
Breakie - 1-2 weetabix or bowl of porridge. Crumpet or toast.
Mid morning snack - bread sticks/raisins/biccie and water (she doesnt drink juice....but I'm not complaining! )
lunch - scrambled egg or sandwiches (cheese, peanut butter, ham, jam etc), cheese stick, smallish banana, strawberries or blueberries
tea - what we're having
supper - milk again - cow cup full.

When she's at nursery, she gets a hot lunch (pie, casserole, pasta, sponge and custard, rice pud etc) and 'tea', sarnies and cake and on those days I give her a snack before bath as her tea is much earlier at school.

Ive seen them cow cups lol Are they soft teat?

I was never sure peanut butter would be ok so young ...should have asked ha! Caitlin likes it now.

Bananas are so sticky but Caitlin will not eat them but she will if another kid is :dohh: Loves grapes though.

I do lunch and dinner times different now too due to nursery so Caitlin always has supper x

What do you mean by cheese stick?

Just a chunk of cheese really but I'm a lazy Bee so I buy those little pre cut and wrapped bits  The cow cup is a hard spout. She just went straight to that from boobie at about same age as Meggie :)

I might buy one - The ones you get from Tesco Sainsburys etc? They use the 360 cups but Id like something else for milk. Hoping she takes to full fat fine at 1 ...fingers crossed.

Yep that's where I got mine. She took to the full fat no probs too but she's a gannet.....

katie has 7/8oz milk twice a day, still in her bottle, but i'm not bein fussy cos she gets comfort from it and what with her op coming up and all that!

breakfast: toast or porridge, usually toast atm, cos she refuses to eat anything else if she sees my sister having toast before college
lunch: ham/pilchards/cheese with breadsticks/rice cake and cucumber and fruit
dinner: whatever we've had the night before, or something simple like pasta/ fishfingers/ salmon, followed by yoghurt and a tonne of fruit!

she's been snacking a bit the past few days too, if she sees someone else eating, she has to have some of it lol

My boy uses his old cow cup as a nibbles holder now. (cos we lost the top ) he loved it from day one!

Rosie will only drink water - she hates squash and isnt keen on juice but I think thats a good thing :)

katie wont even drink hot chocolate!! crazy child! and she wont eat pizza, chips or pancakes!

Caitlin has juice ...

Ive also tried hot choc and milkshakes *sigh*

Hebe does like milkshakes....mummy does too....and Sid....:oooo:

breakfast: cereal or toast
lunch: main hot meal of the day
dinner: sandwiches or soup etc
supper: mullerice/porridge

Ffion still has a milky for sleepy times

Do cow cups have the hard spout where they have to suck to get anything out?

We got a Tommee Tippee one like that and Nim hates it :eh:

The only thing she'll take is a bottle, or one of these:

I'd like to get her totally off the bottle, but she's not taking to any other sippy sup

The cow cups can be free flow or you can leave the non spill value in them so they have to suck it out. I leave it in or she'd drain it in 30 seconds flat and lob it at me for more.....like her mummy back in the day with the tequila slammers.....
