how much does your 1 year old eat in a usualy day? Emma usually has 2 or 3 meals a day, but we saw a health visitor in baby club today and she said that we should move Emma to cows milk adn she should be having 3 meals and 3 snacks a day which means she willl be eating every 2 hours! but shes not a big eater and is smallfor her age (due to her prematurity) just felt like i was being judged and was hoping some of you could let me know how much your bubbas eat? thanx
xxx :)

Keeley has a 9oz bottle between 6-7am
then breakfast at 8.30
A snack (yogurt) at 10
Lunch at 12.30
Snack at 2.30
Dinner at 4.30-5pm
Bed bottle 9oz's at 6.30-7pm.

Keeley's not really a big eater either... either her teeth hurt from teething or she just won't eat a lot.
I wouldn't worry as long as she is Happy and is gaining weight :)

Hannah is just 2 and she has never eaten well she has 3 very small meals a day and she has a snack when i feel she needs one but she doesnt eat much and its always a battle

its such a battle to get emma to eat her dinner to shes ok if its a biscuit or something but her actual meal is so hard she screams as soon as she sees it no matter what it is  its so tough, she does eventually eat it but its a battle of wills, think maybe she just likes to be in control so will need to give her more :)

Hnanah has just got to the stage were as soon as she sees her food she says "i'm going to be sick " and i just have to ignore her but some times i literally get i sppon full down her, i have known her have a yogurt all day

im dreading if emma does that both me and DH were like that (even though you couldnt tell now lol) but it was hard on our parents i feel really bad for you hun

On an average day Jake has

7am - 8oz bottle of formula

8am - Big bowl of ready brek or a hipp a bisc made with cows milk
(with blueberries on top)and he sometimes has a bit of my toast
afterwards.

12pm - 1/2 ten month plus jar and a large petit filous or a fruity custard
pot.

3pm - 3-7oz bottle of formula but it varies each day

5pm - 1/2 ten month plus jar or the the same amount of home made food
and a large petit filous or a fruity custard pot.

He does have other things like cheese on toast for lunch and rice pudding for dessert but above is what he most of the time. He also has one of those Organix soft rusks or a banana as a snack sometime during the day. Jake doesn't eat loads but I think he eats enough.

Oscar is just over 1 but he has

7.30 small cup milk
7.45 2 wheatabix
12.00 cooked dinner
15.00 fruit
16.45 noramly small snack whilst I cook
17.00 cooked tea
6.30 milk

Hi

You have to remember that every child is different one wille at 3 meals 3 snacks some wont as long as shes eating and is healthy i wouldnt stress

Well it must be different advise from every HV because when my HV asked about Ellis's food she said as long as they are eat two of there 3 meals then they are fine!

She said from one year on is when parents over feed there children and mate them fat!! haha ..... she said let your child tell you what they want and if they refuse one of there 3 meals dont worry! xxxxx

Good lord 3 meals a day plus 3 snacks, Isla is 18 months old and doesnt eat that! She'd go pop!

She has:

9am - cherios or other cereal with rice milk (shes allergic to cows, soya and goats milk) and juice in a beaker
1pm - 1/2 slice or bread /toast with some sort of topping or scrambled egg plus a fruit pot
6pm - a mini portion of our dinner with a cup of raisins or something for after
7:30pm full bottle of rice milk

She may have a couple of grapes or a biscuit as a snack at some point also but not 3 meals and 3 snacks, i couldn't even eat that!

If the baby is growing and healthy then they must be eating enough, ignore the health visitor, you know your child best.
