Well, I've just hit cycle 12 which means we've basically been trying for a year (or at least we will have by the end of the month). Some of those months probably shouldn't count as it was more NTNP or we were ttc but I wasn't tracking things.

But it's still a whole 12 cycles since we gave up using condoms.

I like to try and do things differently each cycle to keep things fresh. So I thought it would be fun to share ideas for things that you girls are trying too.

Things I'll do:
Carry on with my journal (because it's been really useful to note down things I've noticed with my body - especially as I try to explain what might be causing them like bad back - probably because you were moving furniture )

Carry on with the OPKs (but I could probably wait a week to start testing because I Ov'd on CD16 so I'll save me some tests that way)

Try to temp (I meant to do that this cycle but couldn't wake up in time)

Try to check CP & CM (think this'll be more useful because I'm writing stuff down so I can compare it to other things going on in my body)

:bd: every other day (we got a bit carried away this month & were doing it a lot, we probably used up all OH's little swimmers in the first week so there were no decent ones left when I Ov'd ;))

THE BIG ONE! Start trying to eat meat again - I've been vegetarian since I was 16 because I developed a problem digesting it, I was having problems with dairy food as well which I seem to have grown out of and I think perhaps it's time to start trying to eat meat again to give me a more balanced diet.

What do you think? What will you do differently?

:dust: :dust: :dust:

not ttc but didnt want to read and run... i think ur v positive hun and i think going from veggie to meat eater to encourage baby making is remarkable!! thumbs up to you! when u get ur lil baby ul defo deserve him/her! xx

wel im entering cycle 3 today (af now in full flow)

this month im going to:
chart CM and CP on my chart i found on internet.
start using opks from cycle day 12 as my cycle is 32 days long
start drinking more!!!!!!!!!
TRY and relax more.... try and find the good points of ttc!!

and hopefully i will have better luck and a more chilled out mood throughout!!

Well this month the things i'm doing that i didnt bother with the first time are:-

1. Using opk's
2. try temping
3. taking folic acid (didnt take it till after i got bfp last time, but doc has told me to take it early this time)
4. changing my diet - more fruit and veg
5. No drinking (apart from a cheeky glass tonight but nowhere near ov yet)

Phew!!
and thats about, seems like alot for my secong month ttc, but really want to get it right this time to make sure i give any little baby the best chance to make it.

if anyone has anymore suggestions they will be welcome :)

Thanks Lisa. :)

Linx - the one about drinking more is a good one. I should probably do that myself. I'm terrible for going for hours at work without having a drink, or making one glass last me all evening. I can be a bit of a camel at times.

Nurse 26 - yours all sounds good. We should all cheer each other on to make sure we're being healthy & sticking to what we've said. ;)

I am going to
*track bbt
*use digi opk
*carry on with baby aspirin

I'm going to try and not BD as much - was it last month there were BFPs and most of them said they did not have sex as much that month.....quality better than quantity...hmmmm but I love a good seeing to!!

i am deff like a cammel
sometimes i can go days without drinking!!!
i wont anymore
day 1 today
start as i mean to go on!!

Hey tracey M! the month i got my bfp i BD'd every second day for two weeks! wasnt charting but knew roughly when i would ov and didnt do it everyday then either!

I agree quality more than quantity!

Good luck.x

MrsMc - Have you already started tracking your bbt? I always really struggle to remember to do it first thing when the alarm goes off. Going to have to try and figure out a good way of making myself do it.

Tracey - we're the same. We'll be all snuggled together 'just having a cuddle' and then one thing leads to another... :bd: Then again, if I told OH we were only going to do it a few times around Ov time, he'd be mortified  I probably wouldn't last either.

Linx - I'm just getting myself a glass of water too. Think OH is bringing something down to work for me as well in a bit  And I'm going to pick myself up a bottle when I do the bank run in a minute too. I could end up with loads to drink at this rate!

drinking too much can never be a bad thing :D as long as its none alcaholic :P

I'm going to sort out all the horrible stuff at work and make it go away so I can get back to enjoying my life...starting TODAY

Hmmm, this Q is a bit of a downer for me :)

I used to mix it up every cycle, but i suppose it was all kind of pointless considering how things turned out with hubby.

Although i found your comment about your diet very interesting Kizzi because i am similar.

I haven't eaten read meat for 12 years, almost half of my life, and it is playing on my mind. I like to think that i'll starting eating red meat again when i get pregnant but it's really difficult.

I have tried putting it in my mouth and it's almost as if i've trained my mind to not desire it and it's a bit like putting poison in my mouth and trying to force myself to swallow it.

I swallowed some duck once and hand on heart, i starting having hallucinations. I had a massive argument with my boyfriend and he came creeping to me later on trying to be nice and i didn't want to know... it turned out we hadn't had an argument at all. I was really freaked out.

Kizzi-yeah I started doing it 3 days ago ha ha I put it next to my glasses and reach for my glasses immediately when I wake up!

:hugs: Louise

I've said for the past year I would start eating meat again when I got pregnant, but as that's not happened yet, I'm sort of bringing it forward a bit. I don't take any additional vitamins so I wonder if perhaps I'm lacking in something. And I'm telling myself it doesn't have to be a permanent thing. I have found that recently the smell of meat cooking hasn't made me feel nauseous in the way it has in the past.

I think eating the first mouthful will be the hardest, and I'm scared that I'll make myself ill because my stomach has gone so long without eating meat. That's kind of scary with you and the duck meat.

MrsMc - that's a good idea. Mine is sort of tucked down the bed out the way, perhaps I should stick the thermometer on top of the alarm clock or something so that I can't turn it off without picking it up. I think it's worse in the winter because the room is cold so I stick a hand out of bed to turn the alarm off & then roll over & snuggle back into OH.

my thermometer shows the last recorded temperature in its startup routine so I roll over, turn it on, stick it in my mouth, doze back off, take it out when it beeps, turn it off and fall back to sleep. I barely notice it any more (even though that sounds like a lot of effort) - I don't even open my eyes. Then when I wake up I turn it back on, read the temperature and record it...

I thought mine did that, but I think it just shows a random string of numbers instead. Think I'll need to invest in a better thermometer so I can sleep properly.

Hmm this is a difficult one as I think I went in to TTC with such open eyes I have made all the changes I wanted to, such as...

1. Stop drinking caffine
2. Stop drinking alcohole
3. Stop taking my medications
4. Drink more water
5. Start taking Pregnacare
6. Eat more veg
7. Use OPK's
8. Not use scented Tampons etc
9. Use Preseed

But I guess the only one I have not been able to really do is relax so I think this cycle I am going to make sure each week i take a bit of time for me and have a nice relaxing bath with bath salts, candles and music.
And... try not to stress too much if we do not :bd: every other day as long as it is every 48-72 hours I should be fine. :)

I would just like to say that I have been vegetarian for as long as I can remember but went vegan about 3 months ago and I am loving it! I have never felt healthier! I feel and my Husband agrees that I have even started eating more variety!
I have done A LOT of research of how vegetarianism and veganish affects conceiving and pregnancy and the only thing that is of concern is that you make sure you are getting enough iron.
A lot of us TTC are taking a multi vitamin such as Pregna care so Iron is included in this, I did not worry about this as I have always taken a multi vitamin anyway.
Just make sure you eat a varied diet of lots of soy protein, lentils, beans, pulses, tofu and veg and all will be good! :)
I actually made the consious decision to go vegan not only due to ethical reasons but because I want our children to have the best start possible as there are so many risks surrounding dairy and eggs, but obviously it is a personal choice one which you need to weigh up and if you feel that going back to eating meat is the right way for you then that is what you should do all I am saying is please do not worry that you are going to be dening your body of something if you are eating a varied diet.

Kizzi - i never minded the smell - i cook red meat for hubby all the time, but it's the first mouthful like you said.

It's like you are giving up one of the quirks that make you, you.

I think it's mainly iron, but still lots of other vitemins. I'm changing more so that i can have family meals instead of me having something and being the odd one out :)

If you are in the west midlands maybe we can go for a steak? ;)
