Hey!

So I recently found out im pregnant!

I have booked an appointment at GP to confirm pregnancy but earliest appointment I could get was next Wednesday.

I have changed a few things, stopped smoking, switch to decaff tea and coffee ( I'm a tea and coffee addict!!!) I'm just wondering if there's anything else I should stop or change? This is my first pregnancy so all the advice will be super helpful!!!!

Is it not safe to have a cup of coffee per day? I still have one in the morning:oops: I've read that in pg should limit the amount of caffeine up to 200 mg ( one cup should be 100 mg), but I am confused now...

My first pregnancy as well! I wondered all of these questions myself. I talked to my doc and asked these questions. She tells me I shouldn't smoke (haven't in over 5 years anyways), shouldn't have caffeinated coffee, however she told me tea was okay, and obviously to eat healthier. Like you I'm a coffeeholic haha. I wish I could have coffee but I just don't trust it even decaf coffee I have been keeping my hands off. This may not be much info but I hope it helps! Congratulations on your pregnancy and happy 9 months :)

I believe as long as you don't go over 200mg a day it's safe. A normal cup of tea has between 50 and 75 depends in cup size apparently! I can easily drink 8 cups a day!!! So I feel happier drinking decaf! Also coffee is about 100mg a cup so 1 or 2 cups a day is fine :) but again I can drinks lots of cups of both tea and coffee a day so I've switched to both decaf tea and coffee to put my mind at ease :)

I usually drink like 10 cups of coffee a day haha. I've now dropped to 2 cups of tea a day. So far so good. I'm really trying to play it safe here without comprising a little bit of enjoyment in a cup haha.

I have definitely been trying to limit my caffeine intake but I'm not really measuring it. Some days I don't have any, some days probably more than I should.

Anyway other than that I would definitely start taking folic acid asap, even if you don't take any other multivits.
