I'm not too sure what to think... All afternoon I was having BH. They were normal, painless and irregular, but frequent. Since about 8pm they have gotten stronger, causing pain in my lower back. They are coming between 3-8 minutes and last 40-50 seconds.... Is this normal?? X

Ohh, I would definitely get checked out. BH are irregular and can be bad and take your breath away but shouldn't hurt and the pain in your back could be pressure from baby, but I wouldn't take the risk, best to be checked. Hope all is ok! Xc

I get BH all the time and they never bother me, sometimes are a little uncomfortable depending on what I'm doing. It's not excruciating pain but fairly uncomfortable and much worse than normal... I don't even know who to call as the website says my hospitals maternity assessment unit is closed at night and there's no other number...

Are you dehydrated ? Mine get a bit rampant when ive not drunk enougth.

Do call the hosp main number and ask to be put througth to proper maternity, you just need to speak to a midwife to reassure you or check you xx

Hope u managed to get checked out hun n hope all is ok.

Michelle.x

You should be able to ring your hospital maternity or labour ward at anytime. Would be best to check it's nothing more going on, with being premature still. Did you ring? How are things now? x

I didn't call last night as the Pains not severe... It's definitely noticeable. I'd say a 3/10 and I managed to get some sleep so feel like id be wasting their time. This morning they are exactly the same, no better and no worse. I don't know if that's a good thing or not... X

It could be false labour it's sounds like what I experienced a couple of weeks before I went into actual preterm labour. I would definitely get check though just incase hun xxx

You wouldn't be wasting their time it's what they're there for. Even if it's not too painful if there is some pattern to it I would be inclined to be checked over just incase, it's abit early for your body to be preparing! Please get checked out! Give them a ring, see what they say? Don't worry about wasting anybody's time when it comes to you and your baby. I've been down a couple of times, and even if I did feel abit silly afterwards i was made to feel like I should always go down, they were brilliant with me, and I don't regret being checked. Hope all is ok X x

I'm in the waiting room now. When I got up I saw I had a big wet patch on my pjs! It didn't smell like pee so it's caused me even more worry. I'll keep you posted. Thanks ladies x

So glad you are being checked! Thinking of you! Keep us posted x x

Thank you. Midwife was quite concerned my waters are leaking. Had to ring drlivery and if I get any more fluid on a pad I have to go in x

Hope little man stays in a bit longer, but you're definitely in the right place, I hope you're being well looked after. Keep us informed xxx

Aw ml hope you are ok. Glad you went in though to get checked. Fingers crossed baby behaves xx

Hope you're ok hun, fx it's just slow labour or something and baby stays put a little bit longer!

They think I might have s hole in the amniotic sac... Does anybody know what can cause this? X

Have they tested the fluid that you're leaking? They should do some swabs with a speculum? Maybe get you to cough when laying down.. Not sure what can cause a hole , but depending on the speed of the leak, and how much fluid is still around baby, they will need to make some decisions as whats best to do. You're in the best place. X x
