was just curious

it is a bit bold as some have about the same number post as me. Still, if they work well together :)

I think LauraB is allowed, as she actually pays for the forum or summat :)

The newer mods were jointly decided by me, suz and LauraB. For a start off you have to apply (when laura makes a post saying we are looking for mods) Then we went through each person with pros and cons and how they have already been as a member.

so who was the very very very first mod? does it cost to run? who pays, all mods or just one?
god can you tell im bored

Haha!

There were 5 original mods, including me and suz. Then some people left and we decided to get more.

It costs lot to run, not sure how much as only Laura pays, thats why we did the prize draw so Laura's not out of pocket. :)

awww that's nice of Laura :D :D :D
i just didnt understand it... just thought you all came out from nowhere and invented "The Pregnancy Forum"

Nah I'd already been a member for like 6 months before being made a mod.
The forum has always been Laura's, but as she's been so busy I've been helping out with the admin side of it more.

Laura deciding who will moderate her forum is "bold"?
...post count didn't have anything to do with how people were chosen, apart from a mimimum post count to apply, that was it....People who had helped out before (eg Valentine) when it was just me and Suz etc were considered, as well as people who may try and calm down trouble when no mods are around.
Anyone can get their post count up in a word association game or by posting  in every other thread, but that's not exactly an accurate way to judge whether or not a person would make a good moderator, is it?

no its not.
i mean looks at the shite ive posted. :rotfl:

i do think that the moderators should be nominated by the memebers though. After all the members make the forum what it is and should decide who moderates it.
I let my members choose the mods on my budgie forum. :)
We have a poll to decide.
