what happens at first scan??

Hi there

I'm Libby and am due to have my first scan in a couple of weeks. Am hoping the sickness will pass soon too........but that's another story. Anyway, this is my first and I just don't know what to expect at any stage just now. What happens at the booking in appointment and is it an internal or tummy scan? thanks, Libby

Booking in is usually with your MW and they don't scan. Thats the hospital and sonographers job.

Booking in is paperwork, weight, BP, urine dip maybe. Nothing exciting really.

12 week dating scan is on your tummy. Pretty straightforward and nothing to worry about.
