What does the health visitor do?

i know nothing these days
Shes having tea or orange juice I dont have coffee or I would look like Iggle Piggle all the time!!!Hummmm she said she usually comes on the last few weeks of the pregnancy but because she was moving then she wanted to come and see us before. They wont do stuff like check the house over or nothing will she? Well....its not that I dont want her checking the house its that when she sees the house she wont just think they cant fit a baby in here!?! Grrr need to find a bigger place.

Don't be silly hun, baby is by your side most of the time when just a little bubs so what need for more room right now can there be?!

i sooo wanted to say that. I had one that looked like a barbie doll. She asked me loads of silly questions and i answered them really sarcastically. i couldn't stand her. Silly cow.

Ive heard alot about HV not much of it good either TBH. Ive got mine introducing herself on the 23rd, so i can let you know how it goes nicki

My last HV was lovely but felt a bit redundant as we didnt really have any problems or issues to speak to her about.
They are there for support for you and to check LO doesnt have any problems for the first few weeks, plus they will check on LO progress as they get older every blue moon.
Nikki a LO doesnt need much room (unfortunatley the stuff we buy for them is another matter
)
so she will not be conserned about the size of your home. Most expect a bit of chaos, scruffy livingrooms and PJ clad parents in the first few weeks of LO arriving Unless you are blind drunk and swinging the baby by its legs when she is there you dont have much to worry about!!

when I had Jacob I had a fantastic HV, she was the same HV who came to see my mum when she had me!! What she didn't know wasn't worth knowing 
Really if you don't have any problems you won't see her much.
I may retrain as a HV at some point in the future, it's an interesting job.

I haven't heard a peep from any health visitors.You lot are crazy, made me snort my special k!!
