What do you think?

Me and my OH find it really hard to agree on a girls name and we have come up with Dani!

Now i love this name and he likes it aswell but as soon as i say Dani they all think im havin a boy.

Does any one else think that this is too boyish or could it work?

I agree! It's a lovely name either as a full or nickname for something like Daniela etc. I'm Nicola but a few people do decide to call me Nikki or Nic and of those who do use Nic (I don't like that) but the never think Nic as in "Nick" the boys name...don't worry once she's here the name will become a girls name too even to those who think it's a boys name. My youngest stepson is Daniel known as Dan to friends, Daneil when he's in trouble and Danny when someone's teasing him or his granddad uses it etc, names change what ever you call them! I like Dani though.

I think it's fine to name your daughter a name which some peeps may think is a male name. I keep trying to convince my best friend to call her daughter Winnifred after her Nan but call her Fred for short

My friends daughter is Antoinette but she has only ever been called TONI

I think Dani is lovely, and there's loads of names that are shortened:
Samantha - Sam/Sammy
Charlene/Charlotte - Charlie
Joanne/Joanna - Jo
Bernadette - Berni
Pauline - Paul and the list could go on

go for it, at the end of the day it's your choice
