Hi all

I'm a self - employed book keeper, doing the accounts in a car garage and have lots of companys which i do at home, and also about to start my third year teacher training, only 4 years to go, i've got to do it the long way as i cen't afford to go to uni full time!!! :wall:

If you don't mind me asking - How are you training to be a teacher because the drop in earnings from leaving work is the reason i have been unable to train to date and the only part time course I've found is over two years and would still means I'd be out of work quite a lot.

What are you training to teach too? I'm thinking about business studies!

Bex :D

Hi Little Miss Pink - I have had to start at the bottem, my first year was CACHE level 2 teaching assistants which was one 4hour morning in college a week and 4 hours a week in a school, which i do volunterally, the following year I did CACHE level 3 teaching assistants and was 4 hours one evening a week and 4 hours a week in a school. This was from September to May for both years.

I am going to start again in september doing a foundation degree for Teaching Assistants which is 5-9pm on a wednesday evening and again i have to do at least 4 hours a week in a school, this course runs for 3 years!!! Then i am going to do a part time top up degree in maths, which will be a year long. Then finally i will do a SCITT for a year which is a school centred initial teacher training which i will be able to earn a wage whilst doing it!!!

Thats why it's so drawn out!!!! :wall:

Edit - I am aiming to teach primary children aged 5 - 7 years old

You all have such good jobs :?

Rob's a plasterer, I am mainly a mum but also work in the local school a few days a week, in the reception class. They are going to pay for me to get my Teaching Assistant level 2 qualification in the near future. Must bug them about that in September to see when they are going to let me start doing it  .

teachers aids are fab, Paris will be getting her own when she goes back and I know she would struggle without on

Also plasterers are great, even if they do bloody ruin carpets :wall:

Hi!

Im an Administrator and its the most boring job Ive ever had! :wall: I spend most of my time on the internet which is rather naughty but it makes the day go quicker!

Ive had quite a few jobs, prob 15 in 10yrs ranging from Credit controllers to sex line receptionist LOL!

I've just been made redundant! As of yesterday. Bit annoyed. I was working for a small company doing some programming as a contractor. Pay was great and money was good. Now i've got to look for something else. Annoying as i'm only in the UK again for another 3 months before we're back off to Australia to live perminantly.

Anyone know of any jobs around Preston doing pretty much anything, preferably on the weekends, please let me know! :)

I would be most upset if they touched my side of the bar so I won't upset them by touching theirs.

They have longer tea breaks than I have anyway :shakehead:
