What can I do about this situation right here....

Macy does this every journey.
We have a graco seat and base but I didn't know this was wrong. Now I'm worried.

I've now read up on this and it says not to use a towel. As if you have a accident it can cover their mouth and nose.

Most car seats have a level indicator! Has urs got 1? Do u pay attention to it?

Could you go to somewhere like halfords and get advice?? Or is there a road safety clinic in your area. We had a police officer give talks at ante and post natal groups and they run car seat clinics regularly. Xxx

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

We have a base but I noticed Dylan was doing this in my parents car, like others have said it just needs pulling up at the feet a bit and it should sort it out, I have the same seat and when you pull the belt round the back its easy for it to get angled slightly wrong. X

My car seat is an older model Maxi Cosi Cabrio (not cabriofix, not one on a base) it doesn't have a level indicator to "pay attention to":roll::roll: (can't post enough eyerolls to dignify that comment sorry). I just read my user manual and it's the correct fit although I may have to adjust the seat of my car.

I had it checked by a road safety officer originally. I think I just have a floppy headed boy.

My carseat doesn't have a level either!

We have a base and Will occasionally doea this. Just also wanted to say he shouldnt be on the front seat Hun, he should be directly behind u for maximum safety xx

Oh I didn't know about the drivers seat. Tyler's currently on the other side. We'll be moving that today!

An easy way to check the recline angle is to fold a piece of paper. Take the top corner and bring it so that the top edge is lined up with the side edge and crease the diagonal. The diagonal is 45 degrees which is the angle the carseat reclines at. If you set the diagonal part along the back of carseat where Lewis' head rests, the top edge of the paper should be level with the ground. Eyeballing works as long as the car is not on an incline. I wouldn't recommend any extra inserts or head rests/neck supports as these can actually be very dangerous in a collision.

They can be behind the driver or the passenger but I put Will behind the drivers seat as I do most of the driving. Popped a mirror up so I can see him too which is handy xx

The safest spot is Really behind the passenger seat due to the fact htat if you need to pull over on the side of the road you don't want to be standing on the side of the car right up against traffic if you need to check on baby or get baby out of the car. I am a bit crazy about carseat safety lol.

I'll try the paper thing Mrs KM thanks, not sure all car seats are the same mind you I think the ones that used to pop on top of buggys might be different.

Tried for 4 months to cope with Lewis in the back seat but he hates it so much that I can't go anywhere, and now he has this floppy head thing going on, plus with my older boy's ADHD it's just not safe or practical to put him in the back so I've moved him to the front for local travel I'm lucky I can disable my passenger air. Only moved him yesterday and it's already a huge relief for both of us.

Hopefully it helps! I'm not sure how you level without a base... All carseats here have bases. I don't want to preach, but if your car has airbags for the passenger seat, it really is extremely dangerous to have the carseat in the front, even if you just get in alittle fender bender. For front seats, it is the airbag that is the really big danger.

hence why she disabled the front passenger airbag. wish i could but my car dosent do that so its rear passenger side for alyssa in her carseat in my ka as im not faffing trying to get her out on the traffic facing side of the road when parked

I had this same problem, unless the seat is one that you can tilt there really isnt anything you can do :(

Sorry Jo_jo didn't mean it to sound like that. I was just wondering if urs had 1.
