Went to see the Physio today and it would seem that I have SPD :(

I was also told that its unlikely I will have a natural birth too. I must admit the pain of birth aside I am abit disappointed as I was looking forward to the excitement of goign into labour and rushing to the hospital. From what I have been told I will have to go in on a date they give me and have an induced labour/C section. Well I supose it will hurt alot less :|

so I have to go get fitted for my pelvic support next week and start my physio exercises.

On the plus side the doc checked the baby today heartbeat etc and said it sounds perfect and all feels the right size for 20 weeks so it tkaes abit of nerves away for friday's scan.

Anyone else suffering from or had SPD?

why do they think you wont have a normal delivery? i had spd and delivered a 10lb 3oz baby with no help? am i missing something

I wish I knew hun, just what the doc said today!
Might be because of my size or something I will find out more monday (apparently)

Hope you manage to get your natural delivery

I had c section last time and am much more looking forward to natural this time, more pain but quicker recovery.

Query it a bit more! :D

Sorry to hear that Vicky, I hope the support can give you some relief.

bizarre?! let us know what they say im intriged. when i went for my first physio i didnt realise that she would want to take my trousers off to examine me i had a thong on and she turned round to see my big bum in her face she gave me a bit of tissue to cover it how embarrasing is that!!!!! what worse is that- being a nurse at the same hospital-i kept seeing her around after

:rotfl: :rotfl: Nathanmum.

I better remember my big knickers next monday!

Did you go to Gloucester Royal for your physio? (assuming the quedgeley your from is the one in gloucester  )

yes it was at grh. i would defo recommend big knickers!!! where are you having baby grh, stroud ect?

Sorry to hear about the SPD Vicky, thankfully they are gonna be looking after you with that in mind though.....good luck for Monday (& your scan on Friday)....

Well my midwife said I have to have LO at the birth unit at Gloucester due to family history (alot of bad births in my immediate family) so that may have something to do with what was said today?

I dont mind Gloucester Royal though everything they have done for me so far has been good :)

Sorry to sound dim but what's SPD?

Its symphysis pubis dysfunction in basic terms its weak pelvic muscles, they soften too early in pregnancy and cause a great deal of pain :(

i had nathan there(was meant to be a homebirth but meconium in waters) they were brill for delivery but i found aftercare a bit sparce i think as long as you remind them your still there every now and then its ok ha ha.
