Hi ladies

I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and so far I haven't gained any weight since I found out I was pregnant, in fact I've actually lost 2 lbs overall (I did have quite a few lbs to lose to begin with!)

I'm eating healthily and have cut out *most* of the rubbish and I have got a noticeable bump, but eating even small meals makes me feel so full and I'm living on Gaviscon! But I know I'm definitely not getting 2000 calories a day.

I'm taking Pregnacare max, extra vitamin D and Iron supplements as prescribed by doctor so she's getting everything she needs I guess.

At my 20 week scan my baby girl was right on the expected line on the growth charts so I hope my lack of weight gain isn't causing her any development issues?

I've had problems with my hips/pelvis so my mobility has been reduced (i.e. I've not been to the gym once in about 3 months!) but my physio said I need to exercise so I'm worried this will cause further weight loss/lack of gaining.

Has anyone else lost weight/gained little weight during pregnancy and had healthy babies?

Thanks
Haylie

As long as you are eating when you feel hungry I think you will be fine. You can't force yourself to eat.

They will keep an eye on baby and make sure she is growing fine. Just make sure when you do eat it's the right things, I'm sure you will be fine. I'm not an expert but I think your baby gets everything she needs before you too, so if you're not eating enough you will notice as you will feel the negative effects before she does.

I'm a bit like you Haylie..17+3... I was overweight to begin with... I've lost over half a stone and am still at my lowest weight since I've been pregnant and am not putting on weight yet. My bump is also noticeable and like you I'm struggling to eat much at the moment, i feel full or sick if I eat a normal portion of food. Because I'm overweight, I feel like as long as I'm managing some nutritious food
.. My body has probably got enough in the way of fuel supplies to feed my baby... He/she is definitely growing fine. And I wanted to be careful not to put on too much weight anyway. I'm hoping that's ok!

My mum lost a dramatic amount of weight on both of her pregnancies due to hyperemesis, and she was small to begin with but still had a 6.5lb and 8lb healthy babies. Hopefully it will all come right!

I’m 19+5 and in the beginning I lost 1st 3 lb due to sickness since losing that I’ve only put on 2lb and have a very noticeable bump, I’m eating small amounts often now I’m able to keep food down but am careful with what I eat.
I’m not worried at all got my scan Wednesday so hopefully all is fine with baby.
