OK, so I'm following the Hipp Organic weaning chart.

It says for the first four weeks "all usual milk feeds plus solids at breakfast, lunch, tea" (depending on week)

Currently I'm on week 3, which states

"All usual milk feeds plus 5 - 10 teaspoons of solids at breakfast and lunch OR dinner"

Now Lewis is already in a bottle pattern of 8, 12, 4 and a bedtime milk at 7.30.
He is on 6 fl oz milk and readily took all 5 teaspoons of solids offered to him last week! (this morning he took 7 of breakfast quite happily!!!)

Next week he should be on 10 teaspoons of solids 3 times a day. Should I be feeding his "food" before he has his bottle? or his bottle before his "food"? I'm just thinking that if he is getting full on milk before he has his solids, he won't want to eat his solids, but is it ok to have his milk after?

It's a bit confusing I know....!

I'm not really sure about the Hipp Organic Weaning chart but I always thought that when you start to wean you should give food when they're are not staving hungry so when they are not due a feed cause they may start to cry cause they're not having usual milk and then may not be interested in food at all. I would probably give food in between milk feeds.

There may be others who do it completely different so see what everyone else has to say before you take my word for it cause I haven't even started weaning yet!!!

I tend to give food then bottle about half hour later, because when i started weaning, i did give him both at same time and i found he was more sick..maybe too much for little tums?
