My Health Visitor mentioned a weaning class that starts on the 30th of this month for 3 weeks
I thought it was a bit early myself as Callums only just going on 4 months...
Im thinking of going as i dont have a clue about weaning at the moment

Wondered if anybody else has been to any

And if they are benificial? :)

I went to one and it was just the one session. The reason they have them earlier is to make sure you're informed enough not to start too early with weaning.

TBH it was okay, but I didn't learn anything new, mostly just how to spot they need weaning, what to introduce first and what foods to avoid. It was all purees, purees, purees with only a passing mention of BLW though they were all for it but didn't know a huge amount about it.

I wish they did these in my area. I'm stressing out about weaning already, even though I'm determined to get to 6 months, so it's still a long way off.

I've never been to one, but I would go, just to get as much information and advice as possible

ditto. :D
However......I went to a 30 min talk at a post natal group but I came out even more stressed cos it sounds so complicated! :wall:

A HV came round to my house to advise me about weaning and that was just before Calleigh turned 4 months. Answered any questions i had.
Plus i think there was a workshop on it at a local health centre too (havent been to that tho)

Badgergirl Maybe have a talk about it with your HV, there maybe something you could attend that your not aware of hun :)

My HV had mentioned the classes to me, so I went along to one of the sessions at my health centre and ended up being the only one who turned up  , so had a one-to-one.
I felt it was beneficial and we even got a free baby cup :)
