How do you guys cope with going out and weaning your little ones....at home I obviously heat up the food and then leave to cool before letting my little one loose on it......but I am a bit flummoxed as to what to do if we go out for the day? :? Also what is everyone else doing with regards to balancing the milk intake with solids?

what i do is i use box baby foods and take a flask of water to make the food up with while i am out have not had ant probs yet

I will take a carton of ready made mush. As for the milk intake I am still demand feeding Seren so she milk when she asks for it though I have noticed she has dropped a feed during the morning :(

Brody will take a jar of food warm or cold so I don't have a problem. I've given him cold stuff from early on for this reason.

Yeah Seren is the same. Another one I have found great is take a banana then wehn you are in a cafe just get a bowl and fork and mush it up. Instant baby food.

I have been taking a meal out of the fridge that I've made the night before, wrapping in a muslin to keep cool and that's been fine :)

Or like Beanie said banana is good (or avocado is really easy to peel and mush) :)

i just take a pot of mushed friut or a jar of baby pudding, it doesn't need warming up then

Yeah Noah has his food cold hapily enough. I put some tined food in little tommy tippy food pots, which you can buy in packs of 4 and I take that and a little yogurt. Avent do great bottle cool bags, so I can put a bottle and his pot and yogurt out in it and just stop on a bench to feed him, and also the food pots fit in bottle warmers which is what I use at home, that way if your little one is fussy about having food warm you can always stop in a mothercare and use the bottle warmers they have in there changing/feeding rooms.

As for feeding routines, Noah has a bottle first thing when he wakes up around 6ish, then porrage for breakfast at 9:30, half a pot of avory food and a yogurt at lunch 12:30, a mid afternoon bottle at 3:30 and what ever were having for dinner mashed up at around 6:30 then bottle and bed at 9:00

Thanks for all your advice, I feel much better now. I was just concerned because the HV etc said all frozen food should be defrosted and thoroughly heated through before serving even if it's fruit and veg.
