just a quickie really, are you ladies washing all your LO's clothes before arrival? im planning doing this but my real question is are you washing the moses basket/crib bedding?

yes i have washed everything including bedding, i would definitely recommend this. I think it is advised to do this.

I had a day of washing and ironing yesterday and did everything- clothes (not many thank goodness!), towels and sheets. Seemed to take me forever but now all folded away- I have a feeling I'll be getting them all out again in a few weeks and doing it all again though!

I did my washing yesterday too. For some reason I was very anxious about colours running even though they are all pale clothes. It was sooo sweet to see all the teeny clothes on the washing line...I even took a photo! I haven't done towels and bedding yet though...haven't even got bedding yet . A kind friend of mine is insisting on ironing for me today as my legs and feet are swollen. I will be ready when all that's done...not sure if that's a good thing or not!

Nearly every single item of clothing we have is a hand me down from my brothers brood and his GF kindly washing everything before giving to us!

Haven't done the bedding or towels we got though, hadn't thought of that :wall:

I had LO's bag packed for hosp from 37 weeks (im now 42!) I've ended up taking them out 3 times to re-wash. I love the smell of baby clothes when they're washed in fairy non bio!

Iv also washed all the bedding for the cot and moses basket.

As LO's room still isnt completed prop i didn't want to waste time washing absolutly all of LO's clothes so they are still all in packets. I figured that people are going to be buying clothes for presents and these are going to need to be washed before i can dress bubs in them so the rest of the clothes iv got can wait til i do them when bubs is born xx

I was wondering about this too, OH was nagging me to do some baby clothes washing yesterday but I don't want to end up doing it twenty times before the birth. All the clothes are going to be in the drawer so they will pick up limited dust, I suppose but the bedding will be sitting out and gathering dust which makes me think I should leave it until the last minute! (Although when the last minute is , is anyone's guess.)

Ive only done the newborn clothes and my cloth nappies although they should be washed a couple of times (nappies I mean) so they will need doing again and have bedding to do I have left anything bigger then newborn still in packs or with tags on for now we have a selection of clothes up to 9-12 months  (mother inlaw likes buying outfits and is knitting lots we didnt want loads of newborn and 0-3months so shes been buying 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12!!!) so dont feel need to wash it all plenty of time for that!

I will be washing everything including the towels and bedding etc!! i have to wait to get some drawers to put them in first though :(

I washed everything as when I was born I came out in a rash from wearing clothes and had to stay an extra night in hospital (My Mum wasn't happy at that!). Fortunatley C inherited her dads skin which is much more robust, but it still can't do any harm - and they do look so cute all hanging on the line.

i did all the babies washing to soon and now i am washing them again to get the smell back......lol.
This time i will be washing EVERYTHING and putting them on little hangers and into his wardrobe.

yeah i washed all the clothes AND bedding  it gave me a strange pleasure!!!!!

they smell lovely 8)
