I just wondered if everyone is washing new baby clothes? I wasnt sure if this is something I should be doing?!!

Thanks

yea go for it hun! Willl give you something to do and get goo-ey over

I washed and ironed all mine, new doesnt mean clean....I just thought about the people who could've had their mitts all over them before I brought them. I am a clean freak though and have taken nesting to another level :rotfl:

Use Fairy or something like that, or just make sure its non-bio and baby friendly

yep, I heard that shops spray ALL their clothes with something to help stop them getting really dirty when they are handled so you should wash everything before you wear it (underwear is the worst apparantly because if you don't wash the stuff off you get thrush  )

x

We have and were advised to by the midwife too. They're usually treated with stuff to stop them from getting creased etc so I washed them all with fairy non-bio and now they smell like clean baby :cheer:

I've washed all mine to for the same reason as Tilly - you don't know who's had their hands all over them!

And it was fun washing, drying and ironing them all :D

Yup, everything bar the baby booties are going through the wash once. I only put it all on a short cycle just to freshen it up with Fairy. Then let it dry naturallly.

As Tilly said, if its been out in the shop people could have picked it up etc, so I'd always like to wash it just once before LO is here. Plus I enjoyed seeing it all and ironing and folding it away

I've yet to do the bed linen but I did wash the sleeping bags yesterday and smiled a lot seeing them on the line in the sunshine :)

Bed linen washing today as we pick up the moses basket this weekend :cheer:

Awwwww :D thats made me all smiley now! *off I go to find something baby to wash and put on the line to smile at*

I've washed all of ours, including bedding, grobags etc - apart from all of the real girly clothes, which are still sitting with their tags on. But I will be washing all of those as soon as we come home - providing she is still a she!
:D

We used Fairy anyway, so I have continued using that.

I washed all mine too, wanted them to smell of home not some plastic packed, or smelling factory

I've washed all the clothes and bedding. Wasn't gonna bother with the grobags cos they won't be next to babys skin anyway.

I've washed everytihng that goes next to the babys skin too.

I can't wait to wash all our baby clothes and see them on the line... Awww :)

yeah washing all the clothes in non bio, babies skin is too sensitive for normal detergent..

And of course the other thing to consider is that lots of baby clothes seem to shrink a lot when you put them through the wash for the first time, so if you wait for them to seem the right size, they are suddenly a bit small when baby comes to wear them. Took me ages to figure that one out

:cheer: :cheer:
I'm excited about washing all LO's stuff! I can't wait! Hehe, i need to work out how to work the washing machine properly first...

I love freshly washed clothes!

I have washed all my wee clothes and bedding. It was the most exciting laundry I have ever done! Soooo cute and it all smells gorgeous! (remember to use non-bio)

No, I couldn't be ar5ed. I'm clearly the only lazy moo on here.

We were donated 2.5 binliners of used baby clothes and it's taken me so long to wash all of that there's NO WAY I'm washing new stuff! :rotfl:
