Vote: how painful was your labour

I said 8. I went 9 hours with just Gas and air - I remember is being the worst pain in the world at the time but cant remember it iykwim?

So yeah 8 but probably was 10

I said 8, but it all depends on the way you are thinking, on my first i said all the way through im a wimp i cant go through it, my waters went first and as soon as they did i was crying coz i didnt want to be in pain and i wouldnt be able to do it. I ended up having an epidural at 4cm coz i couldnt cope with the pain

On my second i just thought you can do it gem, you dont want another epi, if you do you want be able to go in the shower afterwards :rotfl: (had to have a wash from MW) and i didnt want to do that again. So i ended up in the birthing pool for a few hours then had gas and air didnt think it was all that bad, my waters went and he was out in and my arms 2mins later (none of the pushing bother) MW had to CATCH him.
I also think that the bigger the baby the better they come out gravity and all that, was pushing for 2 hours with my daughter and i had to work really hard she was 7lb4. My son flew out on his own (i was standing) no mw telling me to push my body just took over i wasnt telling it to  (which was scary at the time) but he was out 2mins after waters broke and he was 9lb14.

Actully i would say his labour was more of a 6.....opps went on a bit there sorry

So just stay possitive and you will do fine, have no choice anyway really baby will come weather you want it to or not :rotfl: :rotfl: but you will do FABits all worth it in the end hun

I voted 10!

64 hours of "back to back" labour. ending in a section (so was spared the pushing/crowning fun and games)..but I quite happily would of died thanks..
I begged OH not to let me want anymore babies ever again

that said......I would do it all over again now  heres hoping the next one doesnt decide to tun back to back at the last bloody minute!

I voted 10 because I hit my pain threshold at 3cm's dilated and had an epidural.

Sorry but 10. it was utterly horrific and left me with post traumatic stress, i thought i was going to die and went into shock, i would rather have a slow labour any day. Mine last in active labour 18 mins. Absolutely terrorising.

My first labour i would say 8 i cried and beeged for it to stop as it went on for 26 hours but in hindsight was nowhere near as painful. I have no idea why i refused pain relief both time, i am stupid. :wall:

My next is a 100% sunroof baby. (if there is one)

I've not voted, its too hard to say, but personally I found the contractions, the drug free ones, very manageable, it was the pushing stage I found 'painful', though I do think half of that was fear  With Isaac I was induced with an oxytocin drip and it went terribly painful whereas I was managing fine at 7cm dilated before that :? Put it this way, I'm still upset Ophelia was so quick, I had hardly any contractions and 1 push :shakehead:

I put 10. I had a 60 hour labour (with contractions no more then 30 mins apart throughout - so no sleep) and 4 hours of delivery. I won't go into details but it was pretty rough and very painful :(

The labour itself was pretty easy goin the birth was a diffrent story, wudnt wish it on my worst enemy. Labour 3 n birth 10. x

I voted one, i was very relaxed about things and expected to be cut, i think ive maybe got a high pain threshold but overall i found it more uncomfortable than sore

hehe i can't believe u posted this question lool..don't scare ur self hun..i voted 3! and was surprised most were 10!!! well it's a personal choice really it could have been 10 to me but I have chosed to take and epi but after experiencing some pain for 40 min that's why I didn't consider it more than 3!!. I am not afraid at all this time from the pain as much as the pushing stage which was exhausting..and the worse to me was baby blues as I wanted my mom to be with me but sadly she didn't bother

I voted 9, i only had gas and air and a 2 and half hour active labour, the delivery was more painful than contractions and i can honestly say it was the most painful thing ever but then how bad can it really be having done it 7 times and wanting 1 more :D

I voted 5 as a majority vote from all 4 births, although i would vote 8 for my first due to the epidural not working properly & only numming one side of my body which left me with intense pain down one leg that i found very difficult to deal with. the last 3 have been great very easy in comparison, i just had gas & air which was great because i fell asleep between each contraction  so when it came to the pushing i still had pleanty of energy :D

I said 7. I was induced so the contractions were quite strong quite quick but i realy didnt find it THAT bad. I was in labour for 20 hours before having an emergency c section and managed on gas and air and pethedine (i was determined not to have an epidural even thought i ended up with a whole spinal block for the section!)

I would quite happily do the whole labour thing again and wouldnt be scared of it in the slightest. Infact i found having a colonoscopy, with the sedation failing to work, a whole lot worse and would dread that more than giving birth!

I found that if you get your breathing right then it does make it alot easier to handle. My mum always said "go WITH the pain and dont try and fight it". Thats all i kept thinking about and i dont think i actually spoke to anyone for the whole duration of labour. I just concentrated on my breathing.

You'll be fine..its a piece of p!ss! lol

Claire x

Piece of pee  If only it was. My labor was extremely painful but it is true that you get through it as you have to.
Every birth is different but one thing is for sure, you get the most wonderful gift at the end for all your efforts.

It was almost 14 months ago but I can honestly say that it wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. Infact that's the bit I could do again ...it's the pregnancy and first months that's the hard bit.
