Vodka Watermelon?

I'm going out on Friday night and were going round to a mates for a few drinks before.

At first I said I'd make some Irish cream tuffles, but we've decided I should do a vadka watermelon.

But I was wondering if I could use either a flavoured vodka or something else (like cranberry snapps or something) but not sure if it would work or how it would taste.

Anyone got any ideas? Ihave to start it tonight.

Personally I would use ordinary vodka as it could get vey sweet for some people's tastes.

Its lovely with normal vodka, I also think it may get too sweet if you use anything flavoured but never tried it so u never know!!

Mmmm its lovely, takes a few days to do though so start it early if ur gunna make one

You can get Watermelon flavored vodka - very difficult to find but it is extra yummy inside a watermelon - and about 10min before serving it and the juice of 1lemon - yummmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Well it's gotto be in tescos as hubbby's going after work just checked what they have.

Normal vodka
Raspberry vodka
cherry sourz (might be abit too sweet)
Taboo blue (fruity blend of vodka, pineapple and tropical juices) can afford 2 bottles of this.
Martini Bianco (link http://www.thedrinkshop.com/products/nl ... prodid=233 ) it's only £4 a bottle at the mo.
Martini rosato (like a rose style vermouth I think)

I would say definitely the normal voddy - the thought of the others in there make me feel queezy... too sweet.

You have to start it at least 3 days in advance.

You buy a water melon (obviously) and some vodka (or other spirit).
Cut a small hole in the watermelon and stick a funnel in it, ill the funnel with vodka (or whatever).
The watermelon soaks it in and up just keep topping up the funnel with alchohol until the bottle has been completely soaked in.

Keep refrigerated then just cut it up eat it and get sloshed lol.

You can get midori - it comes in a green bottle and it's melon flavoured liquer. I know some cocktails mix it with vodka so it must mix ok. Can be found in most supermarkets in the cocktail/liquer section and would make your vodka taste more melony!

You can also get a range of flavoured Vodkas called Absolut which they have started to do in some supermarkets...

Smirnoff do the "Twist" range that has a watermelon flavoured one but as I said it is difficult to find here

Vodka and cranberry juice watermelon I think it should taste ok as I've took my inspiration from here obviously will just be using normal vodka not the citrus though.
