Hi :-)

My LB is nearly 11 months old now and he takes 16oz of formula a day now. My HV is pretty useless and has never mentioned vitamins to me once! What vitamins do you give your LO, if any? It was only when my mum mentioned it the other day that we always got them that I feel like I've been neglecting my wee one!! The guilt of motherhood... ;-) x

Apparantly HV's now say to give vitamins from 6 months old. I had no idea but both of my boys have ha them every day from 6 months. Jack had abidec as a baby and now has Haliborange chewy ones. Harry didn't like Abidec so has Wellkid vitamins. I just give them to them before I make their breakfast and it's now like secon nature.

Jack has autism and at a recent Paediatrician appointment she asked if he had vitamins and was plesantly surprised when we said yes from 6 months.

Hope that helps :)

I give my little one abidec, he's had them since 12 months and loves it. So easy to give.

My HV never mentioned it to me either! Like you it was my mum that mentioned it. We just give LO haliborange ones.

If your LO is still having formula then they will still have been getting some vitamins and nutrients from that too so don't panic too much!

My health visitor gave us some healthy start vitamin drops (5 drops a day). She said to give them straight away, so started at 2 weeks old. She said I should give her them til she is 4!?

The drops contain vitamin a, c and d

We use the wellkid ones. My health visitor said its lack of sunlight and good to have vit d

We use abidec- very easy to administer and thomas laps it up! My hv also said that it was to do with lack of sunlight in Northern European countries so lack of vitamin d. Apparently in the uk there has been an increase in rickets!

As my baby was ff I was told to start using them from 12 months when introducing cows milk or when he stopped drinking more than 20oz of formula a day as that was the point the formula wouldn't provide enough vitamins

We just started recently in the hope it might make them a bit more robust, given how ill they've been. I wasn't advised to by my HV for either of them, but now they're both off formula it seemed a good plan. We use the Wellkid ones and they both seem to like them.

We give abidec. Try to buy them when they're on 3-4-2 at Boots to save some money.

Thanks, ladies! Got abidec yesterday and he seemed to enjoy it - although it doesn't smell the best ;-) thanks again! X
