Vitamins/Supplements

Hi ladies...

Just over 4 weeks pregnant, and living in Japan. My husband is going back to the UK and I want him to get me some vitamins ie Pregnacare. I'm sure they have the equivalent out here but I can't read the instructions!! Any suggestions? I need to give husband proper description or he will have no clue!

What do you mean? Can't you just send him into Boots with Pregnacare written down? Congrats by the way on the pregnancy!

Have a google, find the exact ones you want, write it down, and tell him to go to Boots and ask an assistant - you can't go wrong

I will tell him which ones - i was more after advice on which ones and just wondered if anyone could recommend a brand...I don't know if pregnacare is the only type available?

Oh I see, sorry!
Pregnacare is usually the best reccomended, although it's quite expensive, and personally I only took folic acid, and nothing else.
It's all down to personal choice really

Pregnacare is supposed to be the best, but my doctor gave me folic acid only.. x

Hi, I found pregnacare made me really sick so I got sanatogen pregnancy ones (just as expensive as pregnacare) and then got some Sanatogen new mother ones for now I'm feeding. They don't make me feel sick at all like pregnacare used to.

Boots usually have 3for2 on these so check their website to see if any are on offer.

That's a good point actually...
I did have another supplement in the first weeks, but that and the folic acid made me sick! I can't remember what it was now... one of those combined "mother-to-be" ones from Asda or Tesco.....
Anyway, I ended up only taking folic acid, like I've said.

Watch out for those A-Z vitamins... some of them are nasties you don't want extras of! x

Im taking the pregnancare plus with omega-3 with the hope of a brainy baby lol! Couldnt believe how expensive they were also the tablets are huge and i always reach when taking them! xx

I found anything other than folic acid made me ill and even more constipated , my GP said folic acid alone was fine . of course its all about what your comfortable with

I have been taking superdrugs own version of pregnacare which was a lot cheaper but had all the same ingredients!!
