Views on taking LO's to scans.

ahw hope it goes well.. .we took Josie and she was good as gold...

i had drummed it into her not to move, speak or muck about at all! When the sonographer said "hello darling what's your name" she whispered "josie" and i had to say "you can talk a bit louder than that Josie!!"

she was 3 and half at the time... i don't know if she really could comprehend that it was the baby she was looking at on the screen but i think she definately enjoyed being part of it x x x

Thanks Ladies :)
Awww bless Josie, she really did listen to you, hope Adams the same! Adams seen my other scan pic and he keeps telling me Ive got trains and cars in my belly so I dont think he understands, hopefully all being well today with baby, he will understand a little bit more x x

Hope it all goes well, think it's a personal choice with kids really. I took my daughter out of school yesterday for mine just to come, but she is 14 so a bit different for me, you still have mixed feelings however old they are, I did tell her before that things don't always work out but it is a family thing so they share all lifes ups and downs. My SIL took my nephew he was 2 at the time and they said to him we're going to see if there is a baby in mummies tummy, unfortunately there wasn't (she had a molar pregnancy) so they sort of said, oh there's no baby there this time and then dropped him off with family so they could talk about it properly without scaring him too much, not sure how they managed to keep it together though getting home though, think the total shock left her speechless, happily they had a successful pregnancy next time and had a daughter last week.

lol at the trains and cars...!! bless him x x x

I took my 7 year old son with us to the 2nd scan last time. I probably won't take him to the 12 week scan & defo not my 3 year old (he is very boisterous!) I would maybe consider taking him to the 20 week scan depends if he was off school etc. Think its up to you and think it depends on the age of the child/children. You have to consider if something did go wrong (god forbid) would they cope/would you want them to see you upset etc. xx

I took my little man and im glad I did, he was really good and it helped him realise that hes going to be having a little brother or sister x x

We took our 5 year old son to our 20 week scan and our 4d one we hadnt told any1 by the 12 week one or i would have prob took him to that.. i wanted him to feel involved but tbh he wasnt really interested he was more enjoying watching the fish tank in the corner of the room lol. I think its nice for them to be there though x
