Hi,

very worried this morning ladies, I'd got past the point of checking for blood and then last night I found a patch of what I think was brown blood (I had red pants on so hard to tell) in my pants- about the size of a 5p so not much but I'm still freaked. Nothing since and apart from one sharp stab I had yesterday afternoon in my cervix area I can't tell that anything else is going on. I'm going to phone the midwives when they open but anyone have any reassurance/knowledge/advice? To top it all my hip is starting to get very painful and kind of feeling like it dislocates in the mornings especially, Mel has dropped his 2 hour nap and is being a nightmare in the afternoons and I'm moving up to my parents next Monday as we're having major building done to our house and all the back will be knocked down a fortnight today so I've got an enormous amount of sorting to do this week. Aaargh!

Sorry about the moan and the panic, having a pants time right now

I had bleeding throughout pregnancy so now how worrying it is. Definately contact the midwife but try and relax as much as possible. If it was brown it sounds like old blood. Good luck

I would get it checked out hunny, prob nothing but best be safe than sorry

Hi,

just got back from m/w and she had a listen in and she said not to worry as it's probably just a bit of a mystery. I don't really feel reassured though, I guess it's mostly because of my two miscarriages, I just saw blood and thought the absolute worst. I am now checking on the hour and feel pretty miserable. What could it have been though? Could it be my cervix changing or something? We hadn't had sex or anything. I suppose I'd like a reason, not having one makes me feel nervous. Sorry to wibble, just very freaked out. The baby is fine apparently and is kicking a lot so....?

Glad baby is fine, i had bleeding last week and had a scan all was well but had an internal examination and was told i had a bit of erosion on my cervix which most likely caused the bleed, was also told that sometimes we get bleeding and that it cant be explaned, doesnt help when you need reassuring though, its only natural to worry, go and put your feet up

I had this at almost exactly the same stage in my first pregnancy. They did an internal and said it was cervical erosion (I think - it was 7 years ago!). I hadn't had sex, which is the most common cause, but I do think I had def been overdoing it so just slowed down a bit and never had it again. So I know it's easier said than done with a LO tearing around, but do try and rest up a bit. Ask for help if you need it! (I'm such a hypocrite - I never ask for help!)

It was terrifying at the time so I understand how you feel. It was good for me though because I had fallen pregnant by accident aged 17 and still wasn't sure how I was feeling about the baby. But the scare really cemented home to me how much I wanted her.

Aww hun, glad to hear everything is ok. I have had this at 22 weeks too... It was due to my low-lying placenta at that time. Hope it was just a one time incident. Get lots and lots of rest hun

Hi Rosebay

I'm sure you;ll be fine. Why not ask for a reassureance scan though, just to put your mind at rest? Then they can check your cervix and position of placenta (which i guess could cause a bit of bleeding)
Sounds like lots of women have it, but i know it's more about getting your own mind to feel positive about it so you don't spend the next weeks worrying for no reason x

Thanks ladies that really helps. Feeling a bit better about it this evening as there's no more bleeding so far. The placenta was in the normal place in the scan but I wonder if it's that cervical erosion thing? It helps to hear that some of you have been there and it's been ok, I'm just still kind of expecting it to go wrong after the year I've had with it but I guess I should be positive. Baby is kicking me right now going "yes you should!"

Thanks again

I had cervical erosion at 11 weeks and was taken in for a scan and a speculum exam. It can be very scary. More so, I imagine, when you've suffered loss in the past. I hope you get some reassurance soon
