Very Late period and BFN...... For a friend

Im asking this for a friend.

She had her last period on Sunday 18th March and her next AF was due Sunday 15th April but it never arrived. She is now over 3 weeks late and has done 2 tests both have come back negative.

Shes had some AF pains but AF has never arrived, been feeling sick & tired like in her last pregnancy but no sore boobs or anything like she did time.

She is going to test again in a few days and make an appointment with her doctor if its negative again. I have heard a couple of people mention that they had to have their pregnancy confirmed by a blood test, how common is this?

well has u know im goin thru the same thing, it is known that urine tests dont always pick it up. Blood test are the definate answer. so tell her to get down the docs and ask for one. (some doctors wont allow as its against thier policy, mine wont ><)

Really I never knew that!! I cant understand why they wouldnt though, its weird isnt it!

i am on day 60 of my current cycle all my tests have been bfns.. off to the doctors tomorrow...got everything crossed that i might be preg though i have my doubts. so i know how your friend feels.

stress? worry? dieting? change in fitness patterns can all effect AF... is she perhaps stressed or worrying which may cause AF to disappear?

I would defo get to the doctors for blood test tho, and to see the doctor in gerneral.

I was told the reason iv been tired, was because iv not been drinking enough water each day, your suppose to drink 2 litres..... Since then i havent been as tired?

yep in some women the Hcg is absorbed straight into the blood stream so doesnt get picked up in urine tests.

She should def get to the docs for a blood test!

Could this be the test even though she got a postive HPT with her last pregnancy?

its possible, i never had a positive HPT as im one of the lucky few whos Hcg absorbs into the blood, but then I had a BFP last month (which turned out to be a chemical preg) so I guess it may vary between pregnancies? Im really not 100% sure im just assuming.
