I found this article when I was looking what was safe to use on my baby and it's quite frightening so I thought I'd share. I have since found this baby oil on Amazon and used it today and it is fantastic. My son had quite flaky, dry skin on his forehead and one application has remedied it.

We just used olive oil too on our newborn when he had dry skin. Worked a treat

LO had very sensitive skin. Most products would give her a rash. I used almond oil on her skin. Its nice because it is not as greasy as olive oil and doesnt have a smell but olive oil works too.

Guidelines have changed again and they are back to recommending sunflower oil (when I had James it had just changed from sunflower oil to olive oil and now they have reverted back?)

We used to use some coconut oil from the food section in Waitrose [the brand was something like 'Groovy Food' and it was organic coconut oil] recommended by someone on here.... James had terrible skin and this was fab, smelt divine as well. It had the texture of dry lard (nice) but would soften in the warmth of your hand.

I remember when my toddler was 8 weeks and I had to take her for an appointment with her consultant pediatrician, he asked what I was using on her cradle cap and I said olive oil. He just nodded and I asked if it was ok or should I use sunflower/vegetable/coconut oil instead and he just laughed and said they all did the trick so any is fine! So I've just used olive oil really.x

Lansinoh nipple cream is the best for nappy rash! Its good on dry skin too.

Used weleda's calendula range, whereas I think the nappy cream works fab like first signs of irritation once or twice a bit of cream and it's gone.

For his lotion I've got Dr. Organic from Holland and barrett which works amazing compared to the parrafin wax crap the docs give me for his eczema. I'm currently on the virgin coconut oil but the manuka honey one smells miles better!

Never really used johnsons or anything, threw it all out quite soon after he was born and doing no good. Perhaps good for washing make up brushes lol!
