I've been looking at finger foods and stuff for Albert and finding foods that don't have milk products is going to be a bit of a nightmare. Now, with me its not a case of Can't Cook Won't Cook, its more a case of Shouldn't Even Be Allowed To Walk Past The Kitchen. I've been fine with the purees but am going to need a crash course in cooking for him lol. The only thing I am good at is baking which is fine for biscuits and other treats but I'm struggling for savoury things to make. Does anyone have any ideas? I don't want him to be stuck with the same things all the time xxxxxxx

T bag has been getting roasted chips of vegetables as finger foods. We tried boiling them but they were just too slippy for her to hold.

Only trouble is I haven't perfected the roasting bit yet and I char them a bit (I like em like that lol)

I have done sweet potato, butternut squash, swede, carrots. Cut them in to strips and par boil for a few mins then roast with a bit of olive oil

Xxx

Root veg are great, chip size cucumber and tomato slices,.green beans. You can make pancakes etc with his formula. Wholemeal bread doesnt tend.to have dairy in. Pasta shapes like spiral are good for holding, chicken etc. Brown chicken meat (drumsticks, thighs) are juicier and easier to munch on.
Organix snacks are God sent as well

Also avocadoes, broccoli are good to grip. Once you know he is ok.with eggs, you can.make omelette and cut into strips, eggy bread

he can have the soya milk and yoghurts etc and can have hard cheese like cheddar or edam cos the lactose is broken down by the maturing process. So mash and a bit of cheese and baby pasta with a sauce made from his formula is what we have been giving AJ. He is lactose intolerant and we were giving a nhs lactose free diet sheet from the dr. x

I wish i could give my lo dairy, he is allergic to milk full stop. And i suspect soya allergy too

Bloody hell really? Can you try rice, coconut or almond milk yet?

I was waiting until he was 1 and i have all clear on nuts allergy but i guess i can try coconut milk, its not too bad.
I have to get him Pure sunflower spread, poor boy has to eat that instead of normal stuff.
I might start trying adding coconut cream/milk to see if he reacts, feel very limited in what i can give him, dairy is everywhere!
