My 9 week old son just has his vaccines yesterday, the full lot 3 jabs(containing loads of different vaccines) and rotavirus orally. Well he cried when the injection was given, which is normal. He was sleepy after (also normal). What wasnt normal he was hard to wake back up, when i did get him awake he was staring into thin air making some scary noises ive never heard him make before & blinking very slowly. Not responding to me or my husband (when hes usually super nosey and cant stop watching us. Frightend us to death and had to take him to the a&e. This is my 3rd child and never seen such a reaction from vaccines before. Im scared about the next lot due in a few weeks. Im thinking of opting out. Even though i dont want him to get the illnesses also. What am i supposed to do ??😭 i really cant watch this happen again, although hes recovering now. Im guessing the next lot of jabs will do it again. I thought he was permanently damaged.

Sounds like a possible allergic reaction. My sister couldn't have her vaccines because she was allergic to many of them. I'd ask your doctor what they think.
was this the first lot? My son didnt react very well to his (nothing near as bad as what you describe though) and i think it is because they have added the new meningitus vaccine that my previous child didnt have. I delayed his 3rd lot because i didnt want him to have the meningitus one again . when he was a year old we moved and the new dr said he could have them but miss out the meningitus one. So i did that but still wasnt too happy about it. Ive decided against giving him his MMr until he is school age as i have read the peak time for risk of reaction to it is 12-18 months- exactly when they give it!! I recently watched a documentary on amazon prime called Vaxxed which has completely put me off and i will be delaying vaccinating my due baby . Its completely your choice and it is controversial but for me delaying them /spreading them out more makes me feel i am reducing risk of reaction but still ultimately safeguarding against the diseases. If i were you i would delay the second lot, definitely, but it is completely a personal choice and people get very heated about it
Yes it was his first lot, and to be honest im not keen on vaccines anyway (only due to the unessersary ingredients added, such as aluminium which is known to be toxic and attacks the brain). If they let me i will definatly be spreading them out and yes delaying the mmr also. Although my little boy was born a good weight, i cant imagine what effect it could have on a tiny premature baby. As my sons body definatly couldnt handle it.
its completely up to you , some drs will guilt you but mine have been fine when i have spread it out. when my sons MMr appointment came through i explained he had only just had his 3rd set of vaccines and also its cold season so i was going to wait til at least summer, but actually I have since decided since watching te documentary to wait til he is at least 3. The only disease that concerns me out of the MMR is mumps for a boy because of the risk of going sterile, but unfortunately they stopped making the single vaccine because there isnt an effective one (makes you wonder how its effective in the triple one hey?)
Yeah totally doesnt make sense how it would be any more effective in the triple one. When i was in high school i remember a few of the boys getting mumps, im sure they cant all have skipped their jabs. The nurse at my surgery who does the jabs is really nice, ive known her for nearly 10 years, She vaccinated both my other children. She explained each vaccine and asked me which i wanted to give him. (Silly me thinking i HAD to get all that was on offer). The next lot i will definatly be delaying. But to what age i really dont know. Do you know if any of the vaccines are unnecessary?
its just the chance that they might get one of the diseases. I've never had a measles vaccination and have never had measles, and your child might never come into contact with measles making it unneessary. but if there was a spate of it your child might catch it. They might be ill a week and recover fine, in which case it was still unnecessary. But then again they may be one of the very few who get it badly at some point in their life.
This rotavirus they vaccinate against is basically only a stomach bug! But babies can dehydrate fast so thats why they vaccinate. But in theory, even if your baby got diarrhoea as long as you got enugh fluids down them there isnt really any need to have had the vaccination. Its all about weighing up risks.
I think boys seem to be more susceptible to reactions for some reason. Might be why my daughter was fine with the jabs whereas my son got a fever for about 3 days. but also my daughter was 10 years ago and they have added in that meningitis one since then. Chances of catching it are really small but then you read the horror stories about children having limbs amputated...and it scares you into having it.
its really a tough decision and even researching the information on both sides you know that you cant fully know whats propaganda and whats not, but watching Vaxxed made me convinced about delaying at least.

Hi! I responded in the other thread - my son has terrible reactions too, and for the moment the doctor doesn't want us giving him any vaccines. We will start again and do one at a time when he's close to 5. Good luck! I agree, it is so hard to know what's right. I think finding a pediatrician you adore is key. I found one who is so reasonable and kind and knowledgeable and she helps me feel good about vaccinating my girls on schedule (they obviously have zero negative reactions, never even get a fever) and avoiding them for my son.
If i delay the jabs, which i am planning on doing. When should i start giving them age wise? Hes 10 weeks at the moment. Should i still get the men c vaccine at 12 weeks or should i skip that also? I really have no idea what to do. Any help on when (age wise) and which vaccines i should get done would be much appreciated. Thanks girls
Just to add, my poor little one has developed a bad cold now. Last night he seemed to be at his worst. He was coughing, crying and choking on what seemed like phlem from post nasal drip and then screaming really high pitched and gipping because of the choking. I thought ide have to take him back to a&e, He woke up and all his little eyes were gunked up. Now i dont know if this is also a reaction from the vaccine. So hard to see him like this ��
Poor buddy! He may have had the reaction because his immune system was lowered from fighting off the beginning stages of the cold. Honestly, I'd hold off on as much as possible for as long as possible, EXCEPT the meningitis and DTAP vaccines (I live in the US and where I live those are the most rampant -- and when I had the choice of giving my son just one vaccine, it was the DTAP, because pertussis is too scary). I would do one at a time and then see how he does. Then after age 3 or 4, you can be a little more aggressive with the shots and see how he handles them I think. Of course, this is just going off what my doctor is advising for my own boy, so your doctor may have different ideas. Hope your little guy is feeling better! and good luck!
