Urgh.

Ignore them, my aunty had kids in her late 20s and has about 8 now, doesnt work - never has, doesnt look after them, shes a right scruffy cow... just because your young doesnt mean you arnt going to be a good mother. Im only 19 but i know me and myhusband can provide for our family. Some people are just ignorant and listen to everything they read in the papers.

I belong to another forum (generally discussion) and someone posted a thread about how teenage pregnancy should be illegal and that I should be sent to jail and so should my mother

I am not sure if that is a solution for the overcrowded prison lol...!

To be honest didn't even realise you were a teenage mother. It doesn't matter. I think as long as you are do your best in bringing up baby responsibly that's what matters. I had a mate who gave birth when she was 18, it was really hard for here, but 14 years on she has returned to university and now has a good job. I think it can be hard, but having a baby is always hard.

Im actually proud to live in a country where if someone needs help, whatever it be.. benefits, advice, medical care.. its provided..

I am as well. I think especially in this climate where job losses are going to be rife (including probably my husband) I feel happier in that people going through difficult times may be supported.

Love the new blinky in your sig - and so you should be proud of it. You appear to be responsible, in fact more responsible than some mothers who are not "teen" mums, so good for you!

It sounds like the person who commented on the other forum needs taking down a peg or two! Idiot!

Your age isn't an issue - your commitement is the only important thing x

Some people are just so ignorant! Not quite sure how old you are, but you sound really grown up and like you can handle the responsibility of having a child. You're only claiming what any mum to be would and that's got nothing to do with age! Going to university also means you'll get your degree and have a better chance of getting the job of your dreams when you've finished xxx
