urgent coil question

Can anyone help.

If youve got or had a coil (mirena) have you found it easy to find the string to make sure it's in place.

I cant seem to find the string.

i know. i will feel a twat saying that i cant feel the string and then my gp finds it. but i will go tomorrow.

i have got a smear test on the 26th but it feels such a long time away.
