a bit gutted really i am 2cm dilated and doctor said i could break your waters easily, went to get consultant to see what to do now, and she said i dont agree with induction so no she not having one just tell her to keep bag packed in car and get to hospital when contractions start, doctor was very shocked and said i will put it here on your hospital notes to be seen asap even if pains 10 mins apart your not to be sent home as last labour was 8 mins 15 mins the one before that and 18 mins the one before that, its even on my notes that i was induced with my 2nd cause of fast labours and that was the plan for the others. so I am going to see midwife later and ask her advise should i get a home birth pack or what because it taks 20 mins to get to the hospital and if its any faster no way will i get there.

OMG Im not surprised you're gutted! Surely they should take what you want into more consideration, as now you are far more likely to be on edge about not being able to get there in time! So are they just waiting for you to start naturally now? It all sounds very unfair, it's not as if baby isn't full term! x

I think its the fact that they told me that i would be induced today if my cervix was ready then get a different consultant then say no, why make me go the hospital in the first place, on the good side at least i know i am heading in the right direction. just going to be a bit panicky if i feel any pain now and hubby even more panicky than me cause he worried he going to end up delivering lol

Yep it's worse when you've built up to today being the big day only for someone to then say no! I'd be really frustrated! You have my sympathy hunny! At least we get to keep you for a little longer! x

Thats a shame! Well heres hoping everything works out for you hun xx

oh no!!!!!!!!! thats naughty damn doctors!!!! big hugs hun!! xxxx

been to see midwife, she going to speak to high risk team, she said that consultant i saw is very anti induction and hasn't taken anything else other than her own opinion into consideration. she going to ask if anything they can do, even if she can give me sweeps then at least we have a bit of warning that it could be that day so better than nothing. she is ringing me later to let me know outcome, she said no point giving me a home birth pack cause no midwife will be here to use it, she said they wont get to me in time.

that's crazy! I can't believe with labours that fast they won't have you in :(

That sucks! Like your midwife says, it sounds like the consultant is putting her own personal views ahead of your individual needs and circumstances. I hope they can sort something out for you....must be a real worry to you knowing you are 20 mins away from the hospital xx

Oh no :-(
What a pain in the arse, to build you up as if something will happen on a specific date, then to change their minds.
You dilated though, thats a start!
x

midwife rang me, she went and spoke to consultant (infact she interupted her meeting and marched in she said lol)and handed her my hospital notes and said you refused this girl her induction and made her read my history, consultant still said no to induction but agreed to let her do sweeps on me so at least i may have a little bit of warning that i could go into labour within 24 hours of having it done and if i get any pains i can go straight to labour ward. so i have one booked for tuesday and another one thursday if needed. SHe said its not ideal but a bit more control so I am happy with that, and to be fair I am quite excited now of not knowing the date and waiting to do it naturally as plan has always been to induce with all my kids except 1st that was induced anyway cause waters broke and never went into labour.

Hey hun

Sorry I haven't replied already! Its good that you'll get sweeps, sucks that the consultant pretty much messed up the whole plan though. Hopefully this will work out for you though. I'm guessing because of your previous fast labours there is a high chance that will happen again?

x

yes midwife said they get shorterand shorter and mine have done i said it cant possibly be shorter than 8 mins she laughed and said you wouldnlt think it was possible to have an 8 min labour from start to finish, there is no gaurantee i could randomly go hours but she very much doubts it. with my last baby i was 3cm dilated at 10.36 and he was born at 10.41 which i only found out yesterday what time he was born as no one had ever told me lol. they have a name my labous preticipate labours they called which again i never knew till recently my mum had same labours as me but not quite as quick her fastest was 30 mins lol.

Hey, sounds like a bit of a nightmare; I am sure things will start moving soon chick... if you have a history of fast labour, I am guessing there is a high chance of it happening again; wishing you all the best xxx

wow, just caught up with this thread....cant believe they made you go in just for them to say that!! :(

Well, now you have the surprise back I guess like you said!! :) x x x

crikey hun thats mad how quick they are. i completely understand why your worried. glad your getting sweeps done though at least thats something. xxx

yes my labours have all been very fast and i have gone into shock afterwards everyone thinks i'm lucky but they are actually very scary for me and midwives have commented very scary for them too, my husband has stayed off work bless him as he too scared to leave me on my own with the kids incase anything starts and one of them end up delivering baby,so he is officially on paternity leave even though i dont have th ebaby yet, i just hope something happens soon so he gets some time off with baby aswell.
